To be clear: the rail connection between Berlin and Warsaw is not up to date and the "new" rail connection between Berlin and Paris is not a race track either. There is an absolute need for action here, because currently the only option is flying - and that is no longer up to date either. With a distance of 1.600 km between Warsaw and Paris, a travel time of just over 5 hours at a speed of 300 km/h would be appropriate (Warsaw-Berlin: 2 hours, Berlin-Paris: 3 hours). Or we can go straight for the Hyperloop and launch this as a European innovation: at 1.200 km/h the distance could be covered in 1.5 hours (Warsaw-Berlin: 0.5 hours, Berlin-Paris: 1 hour). Contract Details: Current Operator: DB Regio using Bombardier diesel units. New Contract Duration: December 2029 - December 2041. Phases: Phase 1: Introduction of new trains. Phase 2: Route reshuffling for optimized travel times. ?? Key Highlights: Reliability Focus: Full adoption of new technology only after successful daily operation testing. Minister's Statement: Christian Bernreiter calls this tender one of the most exciting and challenging since Bayern took over local passenger rail transport nearly 30 years ago.
