At times I forget how important it is to set a good example because you never know who's watching. Recently, I'm been working on getting better at triaging and responding to security alerts. Since the beginning of the year, I've investigated over 200 alerts and my triage success rate is 97% meaning that 97% of the time I correctly identify an alert as a True Positive (malicious) or False Positive (non-malicious). I didn't know the platform I was using had a "Leaderboard" or tracked our "Success Rate". Apparently someone noticed this and decided to dm me on the platform because they were struggling to accurately identify alerts and they wanted to learn what I was doing that helped me have a high score. I gladly shared the techniques that I used and some of my personal playbooks with this person because I believe knowledge should be shared with those willing to learn. Anytime I have the privilege to help someone make progress on their cybersecurity journey it is a reminder that sharing the wealth of ourselves, time, and knowledge will help improve the current state of this great profession. #cyber #cybersecurity #grow #thought #IT #networking #hardwork
