Dr. King showed us that service isn’t just an act of kindness during #MLKDay, Thanksgiving, and Christmas — it’s a tool for systemic change, a bridge to justice, and a path to equity. Every small action has the potential to ripple outward — building stronger, more connected communities. The Tysons Community Alliance (TCA), a non-profit community improvement organization in northern Virginia, undertook a market study that pointed to continued business and residential growth. The study provided a platform for envisioning Tysons’ next decade. TCA needed to create a strategic plan to help guide this vision, and turned to Capacity Partners’ Louise Stoner Crawford to facilitate the strategic planning process. For my Friends in the DC Metro area: Imagine the anguish of a parent who wants nothing more than for their child to be understood, accepted, and given the same opportunities as others. The National Children's Center (NCC) has been a beacon of hope for these families for 65 years.
