This time it focuses on compost as a best management practice and alternative to chemical fertilizers for golf courses, turf grass and ball fields! With California struggling to reach its SB 1383 procurement goals, this webinar shares sustainable pathways for compost use in our urban cities to meet this challenge.?Expert panelist will also share how compost of the right type and quality can save turf grass managers money and conserve water. Short and long term support for small isolated systems at work here! Super important on many levels: ·???????We know that many small systems are not financially or operationally sustainable. One key solution is to consolidate the small system into a nearby regional authority.?A key challenge is who will bear the expenses of developing a consolidation analysis and plan.? ·???????These small systems, mostly serving manufactured homes for Spanish-speaking families who work on farms, are falling in part and put these hardy people at risk. ·???????Moonshot Missions is able through the #WaterTA program to provide support to prepare these systems for consolidation – evaluating engineering and governance issues. ·???????Moonshot Missions also seeks to implement immediate steps to help secure clean water until consolidation can occur. Thrilled to have assisted our client in obtaining development consent for a new 3-storey boarding house in Penrith. Contentions raised by Council included arguments relating to: Issues regarding waste management, including on-site waste infrastructure, waste truck accessibility, and private vs. public waste collection, Rent control measures, Parking and vehicular access, Flood planning, Neighbour amenity concerns. A lot is at stake when we think about reducing catastrophic wildfire events: human safety and health, environmental integrity, water quality and quantity, and more. Customer acceptance of potable reuse: the final frontier.????From a water supply perspective, that is… As part of a potable reuse feasibility study, Rancho Water asked Hazen to gauge potential community support for the project. We interviewed key stakeholders in the surrounding community, the local government, and the water industry, and surveyed more than 20,000?Rancho Water customers. We learned that while Rancho Water is loved and trusted by its customers, a little education goes a long way in gaining public acceptance of potable reuse. ?
