Luck can indeed create some initial movement in our journey, nudging us in unexpected directions or presenting us with fortunate circumstances. However, it is experience that truly acts as a powerful rocket, propelling us steadily and purposefully towards our highest aspirations. Experience encompasses the lessons learned, skills honed, and knowledge gained through our trials and triumphs, serving as a reliable and potent force in our advancement. While luck may provide fleeting moments of success or opportunity, it lacks the depth and sustainability that experience offers. Experience serves as a solid foundation upon which we can build our expertise and confidence, enabling us to navigate challenges with resilience and wisdom. It is through the accumulation of experience that we gain the necessary momentum to soar to new heights and achieve our most ambitious goals. In the grand scheme of personal and professional development, luck may play a role in opening doors or creating serendipitous moments, but it is experience that truly elevates us to the pinnacle of our potential. By valuing and actively seeking out opportunities to learn, grow, and apply our experiences, we can harness the transformative power of accumulated wisdom to reach the highest levels of success and fulfillment.

I think one of the defining characteristics in my #career has been the way I look at problems. Growing up, I was always tinkering with something. Learning how it works, how to improve on it, or simply just wanting to fix it. Those were some of the funnest days growing up. Now when I have a problem, I always take a moment to think about it differently. Fun fact, when I do this, I actually sing the Missy Elliott lines: “Come on Is it worth it? Let me work it I put my thang down, flip it and reverse it Ti esrever dna ti pilf nwod gnaht ym tup i Ti esrever dna ti pilf nwod gnaht ym tup i” It always makes me smile. #missyE #flipitaround #problemsolving

Channeling my inner Saraswathi, I'm committed to engaging with knowledge purposefully, equitably, and naturally. ??? ?? Knowledge is power. It fuels our growth and enables us to achieve amazing things. Think like what water or the sun is to nature. Sharing does not diminish it; in fact, it expands its reach, empowering others and propelling us toward greater heights together. ?? Over the years, I've shifted my approach to learning from exam-oriented to understanding-focused. This has been far more fulfilling, leading me to question more, align learning with my values, and act with greater purpose. I'm grateful for the incredible mentors, guides, and teachers who have nurtured my thirst for knowledge and allowed me to share with others. ?? There are countless ways to absorb knowledge. Here are some practical ones which I've found valuable: learning from role models (like my recent sales conversation with Dharshi Tharmapala), subscribing to subject matter specific newsletters (like weekly financial wellbeing updates from Talia Loderick), and discussions in close circles (like allyship groups or wellbing walking group facilitated by Lyanna Tsakiris?? which offer the benefit of safe spaces + new perspectives. DM me to find out how I offer this support in my work. ?? Anchor your learning path to your core values. This allows you to maximize your learning process. For example - two of my core values are connection and fun. By anchoring any new learning to this - it reminds me to engage with the topic and to keep it enjoyable so that it sticks! ?? Adapt the knowledge you learn to your other lived experiences. This will enrich you and make you a more well-rounded individual. ???? Learning is a lifelong journey. Keep your dance floor open to embrace new skills and experiences. Knowledge is like a lighthouse; it guides you through the storms, the calm and all things in between. By sharing your knowledge, you can be that lighthouse for others, illuminating their path and helping them navigate the challenges and achievements with more joy. ?? #navratri #learning #growth #lighthouse #connect #values #change

Yesterday was a day of vibrant exchanges. I love what I do!!! Between 12 and 13.30 we had the Action Plan Meeting for the Career Catapult Challenge that Sonja Culjak and I are running as part of the #EmpowerHER_EU programme. We were talking about fear and how overcoming that procrastination, perfectionism and performance anxiety can wrap us in a straight-jacket. If we can not be authentically true to ourselves at work we are standing in our own way. Instead by striving to be just 1% better each time we do something, with constant experimentation, where we embrace failure with a hunger for learning then progress is a given. It might not happen as fast as we want it to but remember - people notice you before they say anything. people observe you before offering you an opportunity people need to feel that trust factor before they open up With persistence, bravery and commitment the career that you are worthy of and deserve, the one that challenges you in an inspiring way is within your reach. 1. But are you willing to commit? Not just for a couple of days, weeks or months but for 365 days. 2. Would that be easier if you were surrounded people that want to see you succeed? No competition, no judgement, just support? 3. Would you happier in life if your career was a natural extension of who you are as an individual, where you are challenged, appreciated and supported?
