Some merchants put disclaimers/waivers on their sites like “By shopping at XYZ you waive your rights to any chargebacks,” or even clickable “I agree” buttons to the merchant’s no-chargeback policy. While the idea might seem nice, in reality, it means very little. Actually, it means nothing. Consumer protection laws are very strict and clear. You can’t bypass them by having consumers agree to your terms. In theory, this might decrease the chargeback rate because consumers may 'come to terms' with the no-chargeback policy, but that’s about it. If a consumer decides to file a chargeback anyway, there’s no way the merchant can enforce their no-chargeback policy. So, if your merchants have something like this on their sites or checkout pages, it’s a good idea to inform them about this.
