In this post, Luke Floyd shares his experience with the Sales Success Society, highlighting its unique blend of professional and personal connections that have enriched his journey. — The Sales Success Society is unlike any other professional community I've experienced. While it's no big task to vet the professional caliber of group members, we've also managed to keep the personal character standards high, too. This means I can feel comfortable asking for advice, sharing my thoughts, and connecting deeply with my fellow members knowing they'll "get it." It's hard to describe, but the Society just feels like "My People"! — ?? The Society prioritizes both professionalism and personal integrity. ?? It encourages open communication and collaboration among members. ?? It's a community where genuine connections thrive. At every stage of life, we’re all selling in one way or another. ?? When you’re in a job interview, you’re selling your skills and experience to land the job. ???? As kids, convincing our parents to get us that toy or extra time with friends is a form of selling too. ?? In relationships, we’re selling our ideas and emotions to connect better with others. ?? In networking, we’re selling our personality and values to build strong professional ties. ?? As leaders, we sell our vision to inspire and lead our teams. ?? On social media, you’re selling an image of yourself with every post. ?? When you persuade friends to join you for a movie or a meal, you’re selling your choice. ??? Asking for a raise involves selling your worth and contributions. ?? On dates, you’re selling your best side to make a good impression. ?? As parents, we sell values and life lessons to guide our children. ???????? When rallying for community support, you’re selling the importance of coming together for a cause. ?? Mastering this skill of selling is key because it can unlock countless opportunities and lead to success in every area of life. ??

Coming from a role where I was a strategist at C.H. Robinson to my current role at Covenant, where my focus is on sales, I’ve been reminded of a valuable lesson as I dig deep into my network for connections to new business opportunities: treat everyone with respect and kindness. You never know when a single interaction can lead to something greater—whether it’s a long-time friendship or a warm engagement that supports your professional journey. It’s a tale as old as time, a humbling experience, and a reminder to always be intentional in how you engage with others. Connections matter. Relationships matter. And kindness always leaves a lasting impression. #Sales?#Networking #ProfessionalDevelopment

There's one common thing I have learned in my experience as a sales rep, recruiter, and entrepreneur...and that is the importance of storytelling. It is key to building relationships and getting people to buy into you and what it is you are "selling" whether that is a product, service, job, etc. Storytelling is something I realized that I was good at early on in my career. I enjoyed building relationships with others and found myself being very relatable. In fact, I had been doing this even when I was still in college- as a swimmer, I was always trying to get recruits to choose my school and join my team, and later on in my college career, I had a job working in admissions, giving tours to prospective students and selling the school to them and their parents. I find myself continuously telling my story or the story of a company/business no matter what role I am in. Being a relatable and likable person who can communicate an organization's values and paint a bigger picture for others is what not only gets people to buy in, but also be retained. Let me not only help you tell your story, but also be a part of it. Let's make a difference in the lives of the people around you by inspiring them to be better, increasing retention, producing more efficiency, and growing together.

When you are looking to collaborate and create winning partnerships, then you gotta learn that your job is to shut up and LISTEN to what the other person needs, and then create a win/win opportunity. I go a bit deeper in this week's #TeachableTuesday

Last night, I had a conversation with my partner about my job, my role, and my aspirations. Even though I’ve only been with the company for a short time, I already feel like an integral part of the team and department. ?? What I’ve come to realise is that my role isn’t about “selling” – it’s about building and maintaining strong business relationships. So, I asked my partner for her thoughts on how I could improve. She responded with a simple but insightful question: “If you were looking to deal with, or already do business with London Fire Solutions (LFS), what would you want from the person in your role?” ?? A straightforward question that really made me think. Here’s what I came up with: I’d want the person to be approachable and knowledgeable. ?? I’d want them to be honest, regardless of the answer or outcome. ??? Simple, yet fundamental principles for anyone in a client-facing role to embody. ?? #BusinessRelationships #CustomerExperience #HonestyMatters #ClientSuccess #ProfessionalGrowth #FireSafety #FireDoors #Integrity #Sales #BuildingTrust #Networking #CustomerCare

Networking story! I met someone (for anonymity her name will be Sharon) in line at a grocery store which ultimately resulted in Sharon and I having an hour-long dinner discussing her story and current career paths. Sharon grew up on a small island off the coast of Africa, then lived in London, Toronto, New York, and now has ended up in Los Angeles! Engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds not only broadens our perspectives but also opens doors to new opportunities and insights we may not have considered otherwise. With no help from family and nobody to guide her, I was extremely impressed by this lady that I had only met 20 minutes ago and admired her grit. Networking isn't just about exchanging business cards or LinkedIn connections; it's about building authentic relationships based on mutual trust and respect. It's about listening attentively to others' experiences and sharing our own knowledge and expertise in return. I was happy to be more on the receiving end of listening to her perspective on things. As we navigate our careers, let's remember the importance of cultivating these connections. Whether it's through attending events, reaching out to someone in your industry, or even striking up a conversation with a colleague, every interaction has the potential to spark something meaningful. #networking #professionalgrowth #healthcare #codingandchargemasterspecialists #revenuecyclemanagement

While I thought of what to post today, I remembered so quickly one thing that was of help to me in the last two days. It is the benefit of building relationships. Relationship building is working to build or maintain ethical relationships or networks or contacts with people who are, or may be, potentially helpful in achieving work-related goals and establishing advantages. This could be people inside or outside the organization, stakeholders, clients, colleagues or others. To keep it short, learn to value relationships. You can keep relationships by being respectful, supportive, creating time and ensuring you are valuable. It is easier to be successful when you have the right relationships. #Legalmagnatesandcompany #LMC #21daysLinkedlnchallenge.
