Is it possible in India
Moment students find out their tuition has been paid for: ?? ?? ?? Gottesman told the Times she immediately knew what she wanted to do with the funds. “I wanted to fund students at Einstein so that they would receive free tuition,” she said. Half of Einstein’s most recent class of students are New Yorkers, according to the medical school – 59% are women and the majority are people of color. And Einstein’s students graduate with higher amounts of debt than other medical students at New York City schools. Gottesman told the Times that she hopes her donation will help alleviate the financial burden graduating students face. She said she also hopes that it makes medical school more accessible to those who could not previously afford it : https://lnkd.in/dRHGFXvr #freeeducation #StudentdebtsRising #Leadtoserve #makeanimpact #EraseHighRegFees

This book changed how I view local non-profits. The Body Keeps the Score shares how the body responds to and reacts to trauma. In short, our bodies are highly resilient and can withstand many forms of hurt. Your body has a natural ability to adapt to its environment. However, (social) problems arise when your environment changes, but your body remains stuck in defense mode, reacting to a specific past context. The good news is people can heal from these experiences! “The good life is in the quality of your relationships” (Bessel van der Kolk, The Body Keeps the Score). You can create a quality life by surrounding yourself with people who make you feel safe. That’s it! I believe in the power of relationships. Prescribed medications do not tackle the root cause of people’s hurt. Public schools over-value skills rather than using their buildings as places where students create quality relationships. Now in non-profits, the best programs emphasize community and belonging first. The skill development and advocacy goals follow AFTER people feel a sense of community.? More than ever before, we have the opportunity to create a world that we’re proud to leave behind for our kids. It starts and ends with how we treat one another. #PenkhayJ

Chronic illnesses can significantly impact a student's academic success. Research shows that college students with chronic illnesses are only able to graduate at half the rate of their peers without such health issues. At TRCF, we prioritize equipping our scholars with the necessary resources, tools, and support to maximize their degree completion. #TRCF #teencancer #scholarship #nonprofit #cancersurvivor #cancerawareness #cancersupport #AYAcancer #AYAsupport #AYAaware #AYAchallenges #YAcancer #CancerThriver #philanthropy #dogood #dallasgiving #peoplehelpingpeople #dallasnonprofit

This is beautiful! This was the moment when Albert Einstein College of Medicine students learned that they no longer had to pay any fees. Ruth Gottesman, a former professor at the college, announced that she is donating USD 1 billion to the school. The college made itself tuition-free rather than shoring up its reserves. With no student debt overhang, many students can now pursue medicine as a public service. The ripple effects of this gesture are profound. Agree? What's your take on this? Here’s a noteworthy statistic: Within the demographic of individuals aged 65-74, one out of every three individuals encounters hearing impairment. This proportion increases significantly among those over age 75, where it approaches nearly half of the population. This is why, at the American Hearing Research Foundation (AHRF), we ardently advocate for pioneering research initiatives. Annually, we allocate five to ten seed awards to researchers whose endeavors resonate with our organizational mission. Together, we can change the landscape for hearing health - for the better!
