When Sharecare members set out to improve their health and well-being, our coaches are there to provide the support they need to make the small, simple steps that become long-term healthy habits. This month, our Employee Spotlight is Jhana Chambers, a health coach whose inspiring story has not only improved the lives of the members she’s served during her nearly two years at Sharecare, but also uplifts our team. Helping others find peace in their health challenges and chronic pain – and even talking down a suicidal member on a call – Jhana is a remarkable member of the Sharecare family we are all proud to know. After surviving a life-threatening car accident at age 25, Jhana shares that her experiences haven’t dimmed her spirit, but instead have inspired her to uplift others by encouraging them to shift their perspective. Finding ways to add beauty and humor to her circumstances, Jhana shares how her blinged-out “pimp cane” and the wheelchair she affectionately refers to as her “Hot Wheels” allow her to view the situation differently. We hope you’ll join us in recognizing Jhana this month by reading her story, and also check out her book,?Pour out the Rain, which she wrote to bring comfort to children who have lost a parent following the tragic loss of her brother. ?? I help support recovery from ME (chronic fatigue), fibro, long covid / 1-1 coaching/ Chrysalis Effect Proven Programme / Bodyworker Sports , Pregnancy, Shiatsu/ Bereavement & Wellness coaching
Been an interesting journey looking at subjects that will resonate with people for health and wellness in the business sector. Coming from a non corporate area. The pressures and rules to adhere to can be hard when other areas of our lives are demanding our attention. This is where Functional health coaching comes into its own . What priorities are essential? What areas do I need to focus on to allow harmony of work and home life? We live to thrive, not live to work. A balance needs maintenance.
"Nicky brings her drive and force to the fore in Functional wellness coach programmes. Specializing in recovery support for specific conditions of ME (CFS), Fibromyalgia & long covid. Her supporting work covers bereaved clients trying to find freedom to move on. Helping to ignite the spark to progress forward once again. Having lost her own husband suddenly, their daughter within months crashed into developing ME(CFS). Nicky went on to train with the Chrysalis Effect programme. Seeing how burnt out & highly stressed clients can tip into crash phase. Developing chronic fatigue and numerous widespread health problems. Over the past ten years Nicky set up her multi therapy clinic."

Self-care Simplified! As part of my work, we ran a small group intervention focused on holistic wellbeing and one of the sessions was on Self-care. While doing some background preparation I came across this no-nonsense, extremely simplified yet thought-provoking infographic I would like to share with you all. It simply gives you 3 simple rules that encapsulate the ethos of self-care beautifully - 1) Stick to the basics - Start small, over time you'll have a routine that works for you. 2) Self-care is an active choice - It's work but of learning to prioritize yourself. Schedule, plan and announce to the world. 3) Awareness and perception are important - Be aware of what you do why you do it how it feels and what the outcomes are (if you don't see something as self-care, it won't work as much) #selfcare #healing #mentalhealth #priority #myhealthmyright Source: - https://lnkd.in/dKmx_83v Deepa Bhalerao Aditi M. Helping 40+ manage chronic disease via preventive healthcare, wellness & digital health | Returned from UK after 20 years, merging UK & Indian health care models | MRCP,CCT,FRCP-UK | H-3 Inventor (Home-Health-Happiness)
This Hit Me Like a Bulldozer....Thankfully in a good way! In the hustle and bustle of career progression and daily life, it’s easy to overlook what truly matters until life gives us a wake-up call. For me, that moment came unexpectedly and changed my outlook forever. At the peak of my career in the UK, I was suddenly faced with a serious illness that kept me worried for nearly two years. Those were perhaps the most challenging times of my life, not just for me but, more importantly, for my family. My wife and child bore the brunt of the stress, and my parents, pillars of support, experienced anxiety and worry that no parent wants to face. It became clear to me that while I was focusing on building a career, what truly needed my attention was the well-being of my loved ones. ......This experience taught me that peace of mind comes from knowing that the people you care about are cared for!!! It is a powerful lesson; ensuring the emotional and physical well-being of family should always be a priority. Beyond the emotional toll, my illness was a wakeup call regarding the importance of monitoring health, especially for common yet deadly issues like high blood pressure. Ignoring such conditions can massively increase the risk of severe complications, such as Heart Attacks, Brain Strokes or Kidney Failure. During those difficult times, I realised the critical need to prioritise health checks and take preventive measures seriously. I share this story not just to offer insight from my personal journey but to urge you—the leader, the parent, the partner—to take action. Look after yourself and your loved ones. Make time for health and emotional well-being amidst the pressures of career and financial ambitions. Regular health monitoring can save lives and prevent the hard times that I experienced. In the end, moments spent on self-care and family have the deepest impact. I hope my story encourages you to reassess priorities and take the steps necessary to safeguard the people you care about. Your peace of mind and theirs depend on it. #PeaceOfMind #FamilyFirst #Wellbeing #HealthMonitoring #SelfCareSunday #H3Doctor #ControlMyBP #BloodPressureControl #LowerMyBP #DrChakri

Today, I want to highlight the importance of self-care. It's something that we often neglect, putting it on the back burner as we juggle our busy lives. But remember, taking care of ourselves is not a luxury; it's a necessity. On this National Self-Care Day, let's take a moment to pause, reflect and do something kind for ourselves. #NationalSelfCareDay #SelfLove #AdvisaCare #ReboundTherapies

I help clients Prepare Now, Decide with Confidence, and Feel Empowered: Healthcare Advocate (LPN & End-of-Life Doula). We should all be prepared before we need to be!
'Five Subtle Traits Of All Who Have Not Prepared' Individuals who don't live life fully and plan for end-of-life care often share some common traits. These include, but are certainly not limited to: ? Fear of the topic: Many people find it difficult to talk about death and dying, and this can lead to avoidance of end-of-life planning. ? Denial: Some people may deny their mortality or the possibility of future health problems, making it difficult to consider end-of-life care. ? Procrastination: People may put off planning for end-of-life care, thinking they have plenty of time to do it later. However, unexpected health crises can arise at any time, making it important to have a plan in place. ? Lack of knowledge: Some people may simply not be aware of the importance of end-of-life planning or the options available to them. ? The belief that things will work out: Some people may believe that everything will work out without a formal plan, but this can lead to unexpected and unwanted outcomes. It's important to note that these are just some common traits, and not everyone who doesn't plan for end-of-life care will exhibit some or all of them. However, it's important to be aware of these potential barriers and to encourage open communication about end-of-life wishes with loved ones. Have you talked with your loved ones about your wishes and desires? If not, today is a great day to start. Once you begin the conversation, you might be surprised how comfortable everyone becomes. #planning #endoflife #opencommunication #begintheconversation
