Loving the new Levi Strauss & Co. partnership with Beyoncé and the remake of the iconic advert from 1985 titled "Laundrette". I love how they've taken something so iconic and realigned it to meet today's target audience and also it took be back to studying for my GSCEs!! The big TV was wheeled in, and we were shown different adverts including this one. Probably my first insight into marketing and storying boarding. In a recent consumer report for BDA London, I highlighted SOJO as a key opportunity for brands to engage customers through convenient tailoring and repair services, thereby extending product lifecycles. It's exciting to see a company like Marks and Spencer leveraging collaboration to embrace circular fashion. I’m keen to see how they’ll use this partnership to enhance the quality and relevance of their product offerings. Fashion, as we know, is notorious for inconsistent sizing, so teaming up with a tailoring service is beneficial to both the brand and the consumer—potentially even reducing return rates. Legislation is rapidly evolving, making it crucial for brands to take full responsibility for product lifecycles. In line with the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes across EU Member States require textile producers to cover the costs of separate collection, sorting, and recycling. With only 1% of post-consumer textiles currently recycled into new clothing, adopting this circular mindset is a significant step forward. Mulberry England has tapped former Ganni A/S chief executive Andrea Baldo to replace longtime CEO @Thierry Andretta, reported the?Financial Times. Andretta will depart the British handbag label, effective immediately, and Baldo will take over on Sept. 1.

In a macro sense, the U.S. economy is quite strong going into the Holiday season. Anecdotally, some buyers and brands have discussed a skittish environment in October. Most expect (or hope) the customer has some pre-election jitters that should clear up after Tuesday with the Holidays coming. Crocs stock has been down double digits since reporting, hampered by?Hey Dude remaining in a malaise and projecting a weaker '25 in the American market for the Crocs brand itself.?In releases, we are seeing more of the no-sew wrap around look from Nike with increased colorways of its LeBron TR 1 and Zoom Vomero 5 Roam. “The brief I gave everybody was we need to sit down and we need to design the concept that will kill Dick’s Sporting Goods,” Stack, dressed in a plaid navy suit, explains from a conference room hidden behind a set of large, wooden doors in the back of the Pittsburgh store. “If someone opened the store that we’re going to design across the street from us, we’d be out of business, we wouldn't survive.” This isn’t the first time Ed Stack has reinvented his family business. He was 13 when he started working for his father at the original Dick’s, then called Dick’s Bait and Tackle. The vast selection of around 2,400 pairs of Nike Air Jordans, Under Armour Currys and more — known as the “Footwear Deck” — is a key part of Dick’s’ strategy to stand out in the digital age. A separate soccer-skewed section, House of Cleats, downstairs has at least 300 other pairs. “People really want to feel it, touch it, try it on,” and experience it, explains Stack, 69, Dick’s’ executive chairman. That’s why there’s also a 31.5-foot indoor climbing wall visible directly over Stack’s shoulder, nearby batting cages, golf bays, and even a 18,000 square foot outdoor sports field for customers to use. Plus there are technicians on hand to restring racquets, lace baseball gloves and sharpen ice skates. Dick’s is doubling down on brick-and-mortar at a time when many retailers are downsizing or shuttering locations - more than 6,480 stores in the U.S. closed this year, the highest number since 2020" https://lnkd.in/g8iyYXBR
