Introducing Project Astra. ?? You think real-time AI conversation is cool? How about a real-time AI life agent? ?? Google created a demo in which a tester interacts with a prototype of AI agents supported by our multimodal foundation model, Gemini. There are two continuous takes: one with the prototype running on a Google Pixel phone and another on a prototype glasses device. ?? The agent takes in a constant stream of audio and video input. Getting realistic “performances” out of your AI characters still seems a bit further in the future. I am kinda bored of the static slow-motion stares of most AI dialog scenes.?It’s fun to play with “Live Portrait” to try and pilot the performance via your own webcam. It also helps if the characters are more artificial and you exaggerate the expressions somewhat. I didn’t really invest much time into the “script”. Sorry.? ?
