At the end of April, the New Trends in Civil Aviation 2024 (NTCA) conference was held in Prague ??. This was already the 24th year of a series of conferences organised by the Department of Air Transport of Fakulta dopravní ?VUT v Praze ??. ? The objective of these conferences is to provide a platform where members of communities interested in air transport operations and applications are able to interact. The conferences are designed for both specialists from practice and academics and serve as a forum for exchange of opinions and experience regarding technology, methodology, applications, and case studies as well as real cases in both civil and military aviation. NTCA originally used to focus on the Central European region, especially the Czech Republic and Slovakia, only but has gradually attracted the attention of other countries around the world. ? Czech Airlines Technics was the silver partner of the conference with Aneta Komárková, Ond?ej Tr?ka, Hubert Pikl, and Lubos Pirek present on behalf of the company. #CSAT #pragueairport #aircraftmaintenance #maintenance #aviation

Did you see that the Antonov An-124 made a visit to Perth over the weekend? "No other name carries more weight" The Antonov An-124, developed by the Soviet design bureau OKB Antonov (now Antonov ASTC in Ukraine), is a four-engine heavy cargo freighter with a payload capacity of 150 tonnes. Originally designed for military strategic heavy airlift transport (and awkward and oversize objects) the An -124 features both nose and tail cargo doors. Its shoulder-wing design and 24-wheel landing gear enable operations from semi-prepared landing strips. The aircraft can even kneel down to facilitate easier front loading. There are seven of these aircrafts in the world. The Antonov 124 was actually the precursor to the Antonov 225 which was sadly destroyed in the Battle of Antonov Airport in 2022?during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Reports suggest that the Antonov 124 arrived in Perth to load two helicopters, though the destination remains unknown. Adding to the excitement of the weekend, a US Navy Boeing P-8A Poseidon also made a visit to Perth!? We’re going to need a little lie down, I think. Did you see (or hear!) either aircraft’s arrival or departure?

Despite Western sanctions, #Russian companies are still focusing on export markets for their major systems and platforms. At the #Egypt???? International Airshow ??from September 3-5, the state agency #ROSOBORONEXPORT showcased various systems, including the export version of the Su-57 fifth-generation fighter jet, intended for #NorthAfrican Air Forces. The export variant, known as the Su-57E, is part of the United Aircraft Corporation's (#UAC) effort to equip regional partners and attract new ones to the stealth aircraft program. While the UAC is actively delivering Su-57s to the Russian Aerospace Forces, the numbers are not yet comparable to Western (F-22, F-35) or Chinese (J-20) counterparts. Current estimates suggest about ten units are in service. Russia remains committed to the Su-57 for regional allies, particularly #Algeria???? and #Egypt????, with whom it has historic ties. Alongside the Su-57E, #Russia???? presented the Kh-69 air-launched cruise missile and various air defense systems, including Pantsir-S1M, Tor-M2E, and MANPAD Verba, as well as Orlan drones. #Note * The importance of strengthening military cooperation with Egypt and expanding relationships with Africa and the Middle East, where over 50% of the ROSOBORONEXPORT’s orders come from.

? ?????? ?????????????????? ???? ?????????? ???????????????? ?????????? ?????????? ?????? ???? ?? Following the end of World War II, on 7th December 1944, the Chicago Convention was signed, establishing global standards for safety and regulation in civil aviation. The creation of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) ?? in January 1945 played a pivotal role in shaping international air transport. The war accelerated technological advancements, and experienced military pilots transitioned to commercial airlines, contributing to the professionalisation of the industry ?. A significant milestone came in October 1958 with the introduction of the Boeing 707 ?? – the first commercial jet airliner, which transformed civil aviation. The Boeing 707 offered faster speeds, longer range, and greater passenger capacity than earlier piston-engine aircraft. This innovation made transatlantic flights shorter, more accessible, and affordable, opening new opportunities for international travel ??. #CivilAviation #AviationHistory #ICAO #Boeing707 #AirTravel #Aviation
