Interesting perspective from yesterday's story on NPR - https://hubs.li/Q032rY_q0. After the storms last week, we continue to hear from Kentuckians about a strong interest in solar and battery backup, and we continue to clarify that the tax credits for solar are still in place for 2025. If you're considering solar, don't wait for federal policy to change - get in now while incentives and prices are at their best!

?? Navigating Uncertainty in the Solar Industry ?? As the solar power industry experiences rapid growth—accounting for over half of all new electricity on the grid last year—concerns are rising among potential customers about the future of federal incentives. With President-elect Donald Trump set to take office, many are rushing to install solar panels before possible changes to the 30% federal tax credit that has driven much of this growth. At Reverse Energy Solutions, we understand the urgency and the mixed emotions surrounding these developments. Homeowners like Jorge Solares are motivated by environmental benefits and long-term savings but face uncertainty about whether they will receive the credits that make solar installations more financially feasible. As solar installers navigate these uncertain waters, some are proactively stocking up on panels to mitigate the risk of increased tariffs and price fluctuations. Others are drafting multiple business plans to adapt to potential changes in policy. While the solar industry is often perceived as politically aligned, it's important to recognize that renewable energy is a shared concern for all Americans, regardless of political affiliation. We believe that continued support for solar incentives is crucial for job growth and for empowering homeowners to make sustainable energy choices. As we move forward, let's advocate for policies that ensure a thriving solar industry, which benefits our economy and our environment. Together, we can continue to pave the way for a sustainable future! ??? ??Explore more: https://lnkd.in/eAykRyrN ??More Info about RES: https://2ly.link/20f0D #SolarEnergy #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #SolarPower #Policy #ReverseEnergySolutions

The uncertainty surrounding federal incentives and potential tariffs highlights the critical need for resilience and adaptability in the solar industry. While the short-term challenges may discourage some customers, it’s essential to focus on communicating the long-term benefits of solar power—both environmental and financial. Solar energy represents a path to energy independence, cost savings, and sustainability, regardless of political fluctuations. Now more than ever, the industry must innovate and advocate, ensuring solar power remains a compelling choice for consumers and policymakers alike. Where are you looking from when planning 2025: disaster, survival or opportunity? Read more from this NPR article: https://n.pr/4hbmfhv

Amidst the anticipated changes under the new administration, homeowners are rapidly installing #solar #panels to take advantage of existing federal tax credits and incentives. The federal Residential Energy Efficient Property Credit offers a 30% tax credit for residential solar installations, which has been a significant driver for the adoption of solar energy in the United States.

This is an amazing article. But the headline is a bit misleading. You have to read two paragraphs down to find out that "Others are deciding solar is too risky with an incoming Trump administration." One thing I learned from blogging at ClimateProgress for 13 years is that 10x to 20x as many people see the headline as ever read the article. Typically only 5% of people click on an article at all. Even my most viral articles only had a CTR of 20%. Also, many people only see the article through a social media post, which is also rarely clicked on, so again they primarily see the headline. Back to the article. It really focuses on the dilemma Americans have in figuring out what's going to happen come January 20th. I love the quote by new father Jorge Solares: "We have a brand new baby, and we're hoping to make that investment, so at some point we won't have to pay [for] electricity and focus on her spending."?Fortunately, he could get the panels installed in time to qualify for the tax credit this year. Others weren't so lucky and didn't want to take the risk that Trump would kill the credits. "Near Jacksonville, Florida, Jeff Beardsley says the uncertainty led him to a different conclusion." He said "I certainly liked being able to generate my own power from the sun… You know, that's kind of cool, from a sustainability perspective." Unfortunately, NPR reports "he couldn't get the solar project operating by the end of the year and potentially losing the 30% tax credit, so he concluded the gas generator was the better option." It should go without saying—but apparently doesn't—that these tax credits matter. The story ends featuring Stephen Irvin, Co-Founder + President/CEO of Amicus Solar Cooperative: >>"Our companies, and our membership, are spread evenly across red and blue [congressional] districts," Irvin says. "Solar is not just a Democratic issue. It's an American issue." The solar industry hopes President-elect Trump and Republicans in Congress will come to see it that way too. And leave subsidies in place that encourage more homeowners to install solar power.<< Hope springs eternal. https://lnkd.in/eQkwPyEk

Thanks Joe for this article on the implications of the Trump Administration for clean energy technology. With a fire hose of information coming at us, the challenge is discernment; to filter and prioritize what is relevant or actionable.. article titles are the shortcut. (Hopefully, they are accurate?) There's a sea of disinformation many of our citizens are swimming in, generated by fossil fuel propaganda, challenging perceptions of reality. A solution: location-based and authoritative references, validating timely info to improve situational awareness to help people accomplish top priorities

The SEMA Coalition applauds the introduction of the “American Tax Dollars for American #SolarManufacturing Act” by Senators Sherrod Brown, Bill Cassidy, Jon Ossoff, and Rick Scott. The legislation would prevent taxpayer dollars, including funds from the Inflation Reduction Act, from going to Chinese-controlled companies. “This bipartisan legislation will ensure Chinese-owned or -headquartered solar companies do not have access to U.S. incentives while they receive massive market-distorting subsidies in China, including on many of the components they are building into end products in the U.S. Domestic production of these fundamental components, particularly wafers and polysilicon, is critical to building a robust U.S. solar supply chain.” - SEMA Executive Director Michael Carr Learn more from Solar Power World: https://lnkd.in/e5hjYTUQ #solarenergy #policy #cleanenergy #bipartisan

With 8 in 10 workers living paycheck-to-paycheck, affordable energy is more important than ever. Yet new regulations from the Inflation Reduction Act are raising energy costs and reducing U.S. oil and natural gas production—placing more stress on families at the gas pump. We’re thankful to Sen. Ted Cruz for reintroducing the Natural Gas Tax Repeal Act to repeal the harmful methane fee. The U.S. energy industry has already reduced methane emissions by nearly 20%, leading the world in environmental performance while ensuring energy remains affordable and reliable. #AmericanEnergy #EnergyPolicy #AffordableEnergy
