If you still think of us as ‘just EAs,’ it’s time to catch up—our role has evolved, even if your mindset hasn’t. Listen, I get it. I've been guilty of it myself in the past when someone asks what I do. I've responded "Oh I'm just an executive assistant" more times than I can remember, as if my job is any less important that anyone else's. That implies that our role is limited. In impact, in scope, in responsibility. From project management to team morale, EAs are essential to keeping things running smoothly. We don’t just assist; we lead, influence, and drive progress from behind the scenes. EAs are trusted advisors who see around corners and solve problems before they hit the radar. Calling us ‘just’ anything underestimates our impact on every level of the business.

It's not easy training people. When they are well trained, they can be your "train" to the furthest destination.

One of the aspects I truly appreciate about my role as a program manager is the dynamic coordination that takes place among the various project teams within the organization. Each week, I look forward to checking my emails to review the tasks and priorities that have been set for our teams. This ongoing communication and collaboration are vital, as I firmly believe that successful work is the result of effective teamwork. By fostering a collaborative environment, we not only enhance productivity but also encourage creativity and innovation. It’s rewarding to see how different perspectives and skills come together to tackle challenges and achieve our goals. Overall, the synergy created through teamwork is what drives our projects forward and leads to successful outcomes.
