Consistency is crucial when it comes to sales. Rather than randomly trying out different methods, the winning approach is to find a formula that works and stick to it. Think of it like baking - precise measurements and timing are necessary. However, many salespeople choose a more improvised cooking style, mixing things up and hoping for success. By understanding and implementing a consistent process in your sales approach, you can significantly improve returns and simplify selling. The key to success lies not in completely scripting the conversation but in effectively controlling the milestones. It's not always about making sales easier, but about making it simpler with a clear path to follow, which leads to marked improvement in results. Keep in mind that the road to mastery involves consistent execution and continuous refinement. What does cooking have to do with sales? More than you think! ??At first, you follow the recipe—step by step. ??Then, you tweak it—adjusting ingredients to taste. ??Eventually, you own it—adding your personal touch without even thinking. ???? But beyond the kitchen, it has also shaped my approach to?sales leadership. When you first try a recipe, you follow it to the letter. And let’s be real—sometimes, things don’t go as planned. You run out of your favourite spice? Find a substitute. Customer objections? Adjust your pitch. New competitor in the market? Time to innovate. Whether in the kitchen or in sales, the key is?mastering the process while staying agile and adaptable.?Creativity, teamwork, and adaptability—all crucial in both worlds. Sometimes cheap wins and the customer is perfectly okay with that. It can be for a variety of reasons and can be shocking especially with top tier clients. In the foodservice world, particularly in artisan brands or specialty food the odds are already stacked against you because there will likely be a more cost effective product than what you are selling. Consumers today are looking for stories and brand partnerships. They are paying for ambiance, quality, service and the complete experience. Quick tips to make sure you set yourself up right. 1) Fish where the fish are. Dont prospect or promote a product that won’t make sense for a customer. 2) Lay out the facts. Compare products and show how the product can help the business. 3) Show pricing in multiple ways. Case, pound, ounce and portion size so they can see what upgrading looks like. 4) Storytell. Share about the farm, the process, the people. 5) Don’t take it personal. Some people like cucumbers pickled. Batting 100% in sales is not going to happen. Set yourself up, do your research, present, follow up and move on. Your products and services are not always going to be for everyone.

Your competitors are selling the exact same product. (Here’s how to stand out when Your dream customer has options) ???? When everybody sell the same, your USP is an unfair advantage. Your Unique Selling Proposition (USP) is what sets you apart. Is a statement for what your services does. And it answers one question: ?? Why should customers choose you over someone else? Your USP should focus on 1 main benefit (what your customers value most) ??Not what you think is more valuable about your product. Here are 4 key USP categories to leverage: 1??Price – Offer competitive or lower costs. 2?? Quality – Highlight what makes your product better from a crowded market. 3?? Convenience – Simplify the delivery process. 4?? Differentiation – Show how you’re truly unique. Example: Domino’s Pizza: “Fresh hot pizza, delivered in 30 minutes or less—or it’s free.” It’s clear. It’s specific. It builds trust. Do your research. Understand your customer’s needs and preferences. Then craft a USP. Your sales depend on it. Remember: Good Copy generate leads, But Greate Copy Makes Sales. ??

When sufficient information... Is given during a transaction with customers. Your customer can make an intelligent buying decision. "Yes I want to add the homemade guacamole. I love clantro and squeezed orange sounds great!" Without sufficient information, the customer must make a decision. Purely based on emotions or impulse buying. Or lack there of... Which may not align with their preferences or needs. "I'll have a regular coffee, please." Could have been 'I've never tried a maple latte before! Let's do it!" Customers sold with good information become additional salespeople for your products or services. You will see them more often. And their friends! The teams need to be sales trained consistently.
