See below written on the Township of Langley's Website The 200 Street Corridor is designated for more intensive transit-oriented development in both municipal and regional land use plans. It is envisioned that the 200 Street Corridor would be served by Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) over the shorter term, with the potential for Light Rail Transit (LRT) or SkyTrain service at some future date. The goal of 200 Street 2040 is to establish a vision for the 200 Street Corridor as a sustainable transit-oriented destination and to establish corridor-level policies and guidelines to guide the realization of that vision over the next 20 years. This groundbreaking initiative will sow the seeds of transformation through the funding of a Complete Street study, coupled with the design and execution of recommended Complete Street enhancements and state-of-the-art repair interventions covering approximately 7.8 miles across ten pivotal roadways within the City. The comprehensive improvements encompass a spectrum of enhancements, ranging from pavement resurfacing to the installation of pedestrian facilities, safety measures, traffic flow optimization, and drainage upgrades. By championing Complete Streets solutions, this project will fortify the safety of both motorized and non-motorized travelers, significantly reducing fatalities and severe injuries, particularly amidst the bustling truck traffic navigating downtown streets to and from the existing Port of Entry at the U.S./Mexico border. Euston station - which I have the displeasure of visiting regularly - really is symbolic of everything that is wrong with our attitude to the built environment and investment in public spaces: ?? Adverts taking over public space and bombarding people just trying to go about their lives (cc Adfree Cities). ?? Needless destruction of historic buildings. ?? Outdated infrastructure operating over-capacity with no strategic plan for renovation, just short-term or cost-saving 'treasury brain' solutions that often make things worse. ?? Atomised structure of operation, with no single organisation willing/able to take responsibility for things going wrong. Euston is the first thing that people from across the north, midlands and Scotland see as they enter the capital city of this country - and what a truly woeful impression it makes.

As a pilot and advocate for efficient transportation, I'm concerned about the potential closure of Burke Lakefront Airport, as recently discussed in studies presented by the city of Cleveland. Burke Lakefront is more than just an airport—it's a vital hub for general aviation that provides essential access for businesses, travelers, and the local economy. Its strategic location near downtown makes it an important asset that contributes to Cleveland's connectivity and growth. While the idea of developing the space into parks or other uses has been suggested, we have to ask: at what cost? The airport plays a critical role in supporting jobs, attracting business, and fostering connections. Losing it could diminish Cleveland's attractiveness as a business hub and impact our transportation infrastructure in ways that go beyond immediate gains from development.
