Black & White Bridging promotes Mental Health Awareness all year round, not just for one week. As this year's edition is about promoting movement, we'd like to share how we are helping to support movement and physical activity for our team at HQ. ?? In the last few weeks, we have turned an empty space on the premises into a gym! There's a cross trainer, running machine, bike, rowing machine, and weights. The room isn't quite finished, but the team has been using it every day and can book time in their diaries throughout the day to exercise with no restrictions. ????♀? There are also plenty of fields surrounding the office for team members to walk in, company bicycles to use, and we also provide healthily cooked food (cooked by a different team member) every week - we understand and promote the importance of physical activity, movement, and a healthy diet. ?? Let's continue to support mental and physical health, not just for this week but all year round! ?? #mentalhealthawareness #momentsformovement #bridgingfinance

I can't stress how much the gym is helping my mental health. Some of my new disciplines include watching the cross trainer, avoiding the weights, imaginary skipping, and press downs - that's how I keep my athlete's physique! Seriously though, regular workouts have made a huge difference to both my physical and mental health in the last few months, something which I will continue indefinitely. ???? Today's Vibe ?? This week I have taken some time off to catch up with some admin and have some down time. No Plan Survives Contact! - This is an old military phrase, it means best plans, can still go wrong. I havent caught up with admin and I have had plenty of meetings to keep me busy. I have managed to complete: 1. An article for Soldier magazine, around nutrition and mental health. Hopefully this will be accepted ?? 2. Got my old tee business up and moving in the right direction again. Moving all designs to a new website and Elite Front Coaching merchandise will be available soon. 3. Meeting with the Team at Sanctuary Fitness & Conditioning to develop services offered to the members, obviously to plug the book and enjoy breakfast together. ?? 4. Moving forward with the veteran community Final RV. This is a huge project that is consuming much of my time. But the outcome is going to be fullfilling. 5. Some time with the family. Family had been neglected recently due to all the plates being spinned. 6. Self-reflection, always good to spend some time reflecting. Business is good but it is always good to look after yourself. Strange that I advocate health and wellbeing, then not really take the time to de-stress myself. Is it to early to talk about #NewYearsResolutions progress, or lack thereof? As a small, predominantly #family run #business, like many we are guilty of early starts and occasional late finishes. This year, we decided that we leave our desk or the office, for at least 20 minutes a day - as it is well reported the positive impact on health, mental well being and productivity at work. How can you tell if someone is struggling with their mental health? The truth is, you often can’t. Signs of mental health challenges aren’t always visible, and sometimes they’re incredibly subtle. This is why it’s essential to learn the signs and how to approach someone who might need support. This week, set aside 30-60 minutes to educate yourself on how to recognize the signs and start a conversation with someone who may be struggling. Take time to understand what a “buddy check” involves and the difference it can make. You never know when someone might need your help.
