V2 Professionalism and Presentation - Use company emails for communication. - Organize your data room neatly. - Monitor your social media closely. - Update LinkedIn with current roles. - Quality LinkedIn profiles help investors vet you. - Accurately represent your education. - Good demo day video prep shows audience regard. - Avoid check-boxes in competition slides. Strategic Planning and Focus - Focus on impactful metrics, not vanity numbers. - Early stage? Super excited to announce that I've completed Startmate’s First Believers program, getting hands-on experience with Angel investing, meeting like-minded investors and hearing from the next generation of innovative founders! Some personal highlights for me were: ?? Getting to personally review more than 185 startups across a wide range of industries. It was both incredible and humbling to see how many great founders are out there in Australia and NZ with ideas to take on the world ?? ! ?? Interviewing founders who were at different points in building their next great thing - from those who are building their MVP to those who are the ready to accellerate. ?? Participating in thought provoking discussions with my cohort about industries, ideas and trends. Across our cohort, we had current founders, business gurus, AI experts, and many others far smarter than me. ?? Learning how to be a better partner and mentor to founders at all stages of their journey. From giving pitch feedback to talking through challenges founders are facing, to just celebrating the wins - It was great to hear directly from founders on what they found most helpful on their journey. I’m in a bit of a pickle, and I’d love to get your thoughts on it. I’m at the early stages of a startup with a few co-founders, and each of us brings some essential skills to the table. ?? We're all super passionate about what we’re building, but I’m noticing that one of my co-founders isn’t pulling their weight lately. Don’t get me wrong; I know everyone has highs and lows with their involvement, especially in a startup. But right now, we really need all hands on deck to hit some tight deadlines we set for ourselves. While there’s no external pressure, we believe that the quicker we can launch, the better our chances of success. Here’s the catch: this particular co-founder is a personal friend, and I genuinely want to support them. They've been dealing with some significant life changes, which could explain why they’ve been less engaged. I’ve tried having open conversations with them, and every time we chat, they promise things will change. But honestly? It’s been a month, and I’m seeing none of that chan...
