Biased predictive policing funded by US gov, lawmakers say The use of biased predictive policing systems in the US has sparked a debate among lawmakers who are now demanding accountability and transparency in the use of AI technology. Although this issue is specific to the US, it is a matter of concern addressed by the CHARLIE project in Europe. The project has set out to challenge biases in AI and promote fairness and transparency in technology. In future, we will explore how similar issues are being tackled in the European context and what lessons can be learned from the CHARLIE project.
