This past weekend, I had the privilege of working at Nashville Oktoberfest once again, representing Nashville Soft Pretzel Co., LLC in the NSPC tent. This marks my third (or maybe fourth!) year contributing to this amazing event, and each year brings new opportunities for growth. In 2023, I transitioned to the production side, where I learned to carefully weigh fresh pretzel dough into 3 or 4 oz increments quickly and efficiently. But this year, I made it a point to learn even more. By shadowing the people who typically run other stations, I picked up new skills and became more versatile in helping out where needed. Our fearless leader, Vincent Dreffs, knows exactly where our strengths lie, and I’m grateful for the chance to expand mine. One thing that makes this team special is how dedicated we all are. A handful of Vince’s family members even fly down from Michigan to work the tent every year—that’s how much this means to us (and how wonderful of a leader he is)! We had no new faces this year, which was reassuring, as everyone knew their roles and was ready to dive back in. The experience felt like clockwork, thanks to this seasoned group of hard-working individuals including Abby Harris, Zach Anderson (BS-Guitar) and Ashley Guastella! This event allows me to hone my Process Improvement skills. Whether it’s in an office or at a festival, my ability to spot inefficiencies and step in to make things run smoother is something I take pride in. When I had a moment to rest, I’d check our stock or see if the service area needed anything. If my coworkers needed a hand, or a station was getting behind, I jumped in wherever I could. As one of our leaders pointed out, learning how to assist with other stations was a huge asset this year, and being adaptable helped the whole operation run more efficiently. I’m proud of what we accomplished, and I can’t wait for next year! ???? #NashvilleOktoberfest #Teamwork #Leadership #ProcessImprovement #Adaptability #Tradition #ProjectManagement

???? Hold onto your dots, folks, because today we’re celebrating World Braille Day! ????♂? A massive shoutout goes to Louis Braille, the original master of dot-to-dot innovation. Thanks to him, what started as a revolutionary way to facilitate literacy and opportunity has evolved into a game-changer for accessibility. Braille literally helps us see things from different perspectives. As we celebrate today, let's commit to making our workplaces more inclusive for everyone. From accessible communication to supportive technologies, small steps can make a big impact. So, let's raise a metaphorical toast (and maybe a real one too—coffee, anyone? ?) to the power of Braille. Because when it comes to inclusivity, we're all in. After all, what’s a better way to kick off the year than by ensuring no one’s left out in the dark? Here's to a world where everyone reads between the lines—literally and figuratively. ???

Major props to one of the giants of ResProp Management, Angela Aguilar, celebrating her five-year anniversary with our team!? ?? Angela is a standout leader in so many ways.?Most importantly, she’s a servant leader – she’s always hyper-attentive to the needs of the teams she leads, and digs in to help them get the work done – never afraid to dive deep and help push things forward. ??But Angela is also a fierce competitor.? Think about the affect Michael Jordan had on anyone who played on the same court–he elevated everyone’s game.?On Michael’s court, you can't just show up and play–you come and give it your ALL. ?? Same with Angela – when she commits to anything, it instantly motivates the team and suddenly they find a new gear to complete something that was previously unreachable. It’s a pleasure to work with you Angela – it’s been great fun (with a huge dose of HARD WORK) to build out ResProp with you.? Last word here – Angela’s work ethic is unmatched.?You literally have to peel her away from her work.?This passion is infectious and again, is something that motivates everyone around her. Can’t wait to see what the next 5 years bring us–and while we’re at it, let’s make it 50 more! #workanniversary #leader #FAWOMO

We’ve all seen it before—a promising candidate passed over for a role because they didn’t quite “feel like the right fit,” or a deserving employee overlooked for a promotion due to unconscious biases lurking beneath the surface. These decisions, often made in the moment, can have long-lasting impacts on your organization’s culture, innovation, and reputation. At Woods Kovalova Group, we know that feelings and gut instincts are no longer enough when it comes to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. The stakes are simply too high. That’s why we’ve developed our Principled-Centered Insurgent Leadership Framework (https://lnkd.in/egkEMfi7), which emphasizes data-driven decision-making as the key to eliminating bias and fostering true inclusion within your organization. Bring it on, Evel Knievel When I was eight, I owned a black Raleigh BMX Burner and dreamed of being Evel Knievel. My older brother, aka my “stunt planner,” had one job: to make sure my stunts went off without a hitch. We lived next to a steep hill that led to a construction dumping ground scattered with bricks and mortar—perfect for the daredevil event we had in mind. I was ready for the stunt of my life (back then, helmets weren’t part of the plan). Off I went, leaning in hard, swaying from side to side, momentum burning in my nostrils. Ahead, I saw what looked like a 40-degree angled ramp—and it was. That was as far as my BMX went. My bike stopped. I didn’t. Moments later, my “stunt coordinator” appeared, breathless, looking down at me with fear in his eyes, praying I was still alive. I was. He helped me pick up the bike, and we headed home for supper. That’s just how things went back then. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. I’ve relived this moment many times in my life. During leadership meetings, I’ve charged forward without pausing to consider the consequences of my words and actions, leading my team headlong without realising the potential impacts; like my childhood stunts, these moments taught me the hard way: personal growth and success come when I choose balance over excess. True growth requires us to pause, consider the impact, and focus on thoughtful, intentional action rather than impulsive leaps.

TIME TO CELEBRATE! It’s important to pause and reflect on the progress we've made—both individually and as a team. - Professionally and personally too. In the hustle of day-to-day tasks, it’s easy to overlook how far we’ve come. This year has been full of challenges, wins, and growth, and it's essential to take a moment to appreciate our hard work and the strides we've made—personally and professionally. Whether it's new skills acquired, goals achieved, or moments of resilience, every step counts. As a team, we've collaborated, supported one another, and pushed toward shared goals. Together, we've achieved more than we might realise. As Robert Collier says: "Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out." What are you most proud of in 2024? Please share and inspire each other as we reflect on our journeys to date.
