There are over five thousand known exoplanets. For humanity to survive long-term, we’ll need to become a multi-planet species. One of the most advanced methods for traveling to other star systems is through something called a "connectome." This involves sending bundles of data via light pulses, enabling a form of teleportation. These light pulses would remotely organize molecules in a highly precise way, similar to how DNA is structured, allowing us to build entire organisms or systems from scratch. While this might sound like science fiction, it could become reality in less than 500 years.

Sea level rise. "As the planet warms and polar ice melts, our global average sea level is rising. Although exact ocean heights vary due to local geography, climate over time, and dynamic fluid interactions with gravity and planetary rotation, scientists observe sea level trends by comparing measurements against a 20 year spatial and temporal mean reference. These visualizations use the visual metaphor of a submerged porthole window to observe how far our oceans rose between 1993 and 2023. The blue mark on the ruler shows the exact measurements of the Integrated Multi-Mission Ocean Altimeter Data for Climate Research. The level of the animated water changes more smoothly, driven by a 60-day floating average of the same data. When played on a 4K 85" display, the measurement markings in the video are accurate to the real world. Day 11 - Arctic | #30daymapchallenge For this one, I want to feature existing visualization rather than creating one. I picked Aurora dataset from NOAA and ACE. I came across these resources as a part of my Space Weather Applications at Nagoya University. Our professor told us that this data is used for "Aurora Hunting".
