We’ve confirmed a ￡1bn contract for our East Anglia TWO offshore windfarm, which will see Siemens Gamesa supply 64 offshore wind turbines. The turbines will have a rotor diameter of 236m – almost as tall as the observation deck at the Shard – with blades manufactured at the company’s facility in Hull, supporting 1,300 local jobs. It’s part of our ￡4bn investment in the 960MW EA2 windfarm which, once complete in 2028, will produce enough clean energy to power the equivalent of almost 1 million homes.
