Last Thursday was remarkable as the Roper Lab, in partnership with Down Syndrome Indiana, hosted our first Science Night at Indiana University Indianapolis. Joined by Chancellor Latha Ramchand & Dean DiTusa, our guests had the exciting opportunity to extract DNA from strawberries and create a necklace from the vials used for the extraction! ?? A unique tidbit about this event was that it was spearheaded by a student, Ph.D. candidate Kourtney Sloan, of the Roper lab, which focuses on Trisomy 21/Down syndrome research ??
