Obituary I regret to inform you that our Italian representative, Nello Gonzini, who has been with us since 1999, has passed away after a serious illness. There are times in life when you happen to meet a person who has a significant influence on the future course of your life. Nello was such a person. Nello was an incredible man who had both a lasting impact on my personal life and that of my SCHAAF group. After meeting him at a trade show in 1999, Nello had repeatedly urged me to develop our ExpaTen and GripLoc products - now patented -, which connect individual shaft segments in drivetrains for cruise ships. It was Nello who managed to get SCHAAF to do business with Fincantieri, and others, through these newly developed and patented couplings that offered a number of advantages. ExpaTen then developed into ExpaTen QL, another patented SCHAAF product, which has been and will be increasingly utilised in the offshore wind turbine sector because it saves tonnes of resources for the main drivetrain. In a further step, ExpaTen and GripLoc were finally combined to create GripCon, which is also patented by SCHAAF. Together, Nello and SCHAAF have made history and will continue to do so. These products not only make ships and wind turbines safer, more reliable and more cost-effective, but also enable system manufacturers such as press manufacturers or manufacturers of water turbines, steam turbines and generators, to break completely new ground while conserving natural resources. In life, one sometimes crosses paths with people who have a decisive influence on the future course of one’s own life, but also that of humanity as a whole. We at SCHAAF and especially I, dear Nello, are deeply indebted to you. And so should the world!

Change the engines / ferries to low carbon alternatives and don't change the frequency of the public service - Yes of course. RBS as the part funders of the ferries can help as can DFDS if given the chance. 2. Back alternative technologies for pallet movements.
