Reflecting on yesterday's The UK Black Business Entrepreneurs Conference , I feel incredibly proud to have contributed an article that closely aligns with my mission to use technology to support and empower underserved communities—particularly my own. This piece discussed how AI can be a powerful tool to empower the Black community, specifically by lowering the barrier of access into the digital economy. In the article, I explored the significant challenges we face in business, often starting from a position that lacks the advantages others might have. AI's empowering nature can change that by enhancing efficiency, boosting creativity, and expanding market reach for Black entrepreneurs. This technology not only evens the playing field but also opens up new avenues for innovation and participation in the broader digital landscape. The conference was a vibrant showcase of the resilience and ingenuity within our community. It reinforced my commitment to actively push for technological adoption that can transform our business practices and economic participation. By harnessing AI, we can break down traditional barriers and create more inclusive opportunities for success. I'm inspired by the shared determination and creative spirit of my peers. To everyone who says California's policies are driving businesses away, consider this: Fortune has just reported that our state boasts the highest number of Fortune 500 companies in the nation. While we must continue streamlining regulations to support small businesses and ignite entrepreneurship, it is clear that robust regulation of large corporations is essential and does not lead to a mass exodus. California remains a thriving hub for major enterprises, demonstrating that effective regulation and economic success can coexist. #california #fortune500 #californiapolicy

Our founder was thrilled to participate in the impactful dialogue in partnership with Silicon Flatirons Center for Law, Technology, and Entrepreneurship led by Henry L. Wright and Brad Bernthal. The event itself was an evening of engaged conversation and energy. We absolutely loved the talk on the topic of authenticity and how bringing your backstory and culture creates an ever more powerful you. Speaking of authenticity, our founder shared some tough personal experiences she faced in navigating to finance to show others what the environment was and what it continues to be. But what’s next? How do we galvanize community members and organizations to change their behavior, success metrics, and teams to reflect a more diverse landscape of leadership and money flows? Don’t wait for the change. Step up. Ask for the role. Try something new. We need more diverse folks in capital and entrepreneurship. Upping the degrees of freedom threatens routines, entrenchments, and predictability. Today, I attended the U.S. Department of Transportation's Pathway to Entrepreneurship Day Conference, which focused on powering small businesses in emerging transportation markets. The conference was highly informative and covered several key topics, including: 1. Pathways to Entrepreneurship:Powering small businesses in emerging markets. 2. Laying the Foundation for Success - Follow the Money: Featuring my friend and mentee/mentor, #Dr. Henry McKoy, Senior Advisor to Under Secretary, Office of Science and Innovation U.S. Department of Energy 3. Emerging Technology in Transportation: Presentations from market leaders and researchers. 4. Transitioning for the Future - Finding the Paths: Exploring strategies for future growth. 5. Path Forward Strategies:Moderated by my colleague and friend, #David Howard. I had the opportunity to meet #Malik Yoba, who is widely known for his role on New York Undercover. At the conference, he was present as an entrepreneur working with AI to identify and repair potholes and vulnerable streets, aiming to prevent damage to vehicles before it occurs.
