Life isn't always a bed of roses. Well, sometimes it has to be! Especially in the bakery industry, where manufacturers constantly need to anticipate new customer demands, altering the textures, shapes, and sizes of baked goods to create fresh purchasing incentives. Exclusive mixed-format packaging with a variety of products is also quite popular. ? However, automated packaging can be challenging in this context. There's a significant difference in packaging a fluffy croissant, a glazed donut, or a firm bun. And when all of these need to be part of a special breakfast selection package, things get tricky. Unless, of course, you use our Pick-and-Place robots. Because flexibility is our middle name ??. ? We're more than happy to orchestrate your perfect scenario ??. Learn more about our expertise in the bakery industry right here ??. https://lnkd.in/d3uXKQYH

We’re always taking snaps of inspiration out and about or on holidays. What you are seeing is a twist on vending in Troyes, France that pushes beyond basic convenience to dial up the ‘premium.’?High-quality, organic locally-sourced food in refrigerated dry lockers with a shopfront exterior that exudes just the right amount of opulence.? ? Customers can pre-order their selection online or browse in-store.?It’s high-end without the sales pressure, the ‘checkout judgement,’ or time wasting queues. ? What’s also clever is just how basic it is. There’s no complex machinery to go wrong (unless a flawed Windows update happens), no fancy robots – just pay, open the door, and go.

?? An awesome video from CNBC about automation in fast food and QSR! https://lnkd.in/dGcmgaVx Compared to RoFood: ? Flippy follows the RaaS model as we do, but the royalty is fixed. In RoFood model, the royalty is a directly linked to the number of cooked meals ? The installation cost is more or less the same. In RoFood, it depends on the type of the machine. Also, we plan to put away this cost in the future ? Flippy earned their first money 5 years after initiation. They got $36K in revenue (2021) which was their Series C stage. RoFood is 7 years old, and still bootstrapping (??), but aims to get the revenue faster and during a more common stage (Pre-Seed) ? Flippy is finalized and tied to the cost of an arm. RoFood is modular (= the cost of R&D for the next machines decreases), simple, and standardized (= cheaper in mass production). And we have the fryer machine blueprint design as well ?? ?? Put + in comments and get our deck! PS: the advanced version of the video with some great and emotional comments ?? https://lnkd.in/dHF2Ab4y

Exciting news! We’re moving to a bigger warehouse in August! Currently, we make all our cocktail mixes in a small warehouse and package them with the help of our dedicated team. But as we scale, you might wonder, what’s next? While expanding, we won’t be leaving the mixing and packing to robots and AI just yet. Here’s why we prefer to do it ourselves: → Quality Control Making our cocktails in-house allows us to maintain strict quality control. We handle unique ingredients like strawberry puree, which is thick, sugary, and full of pips. These wouldn't go through standard co-packing machinery, and we refuse to compromise on quality just to fit someone else's process. ????♂? → Small Batch Flexibility We love creating small batches and collaborating with other brands on new cocktails. This hands-on approach allows us to innovate and bring you exciting new flavours. → Stock control By managing our own production, we stay in charge of our stock. During busy periods, we can ramp up production ourselves instead of relying on external schedules. This means we’re in control of our destiny, ready to meet demand whenever it spikes. This move marks a significant step in our journey, and we’re thrilled to scale up while staying true to what’s important to us: Real Cocktails. Bottled. ?? Stay tuned for more updates and cheers to what’s next! ??

Chipotle isn't just rolling burritos, it’s rolling out automation. From a guacamole-making robot to digital makelines, the QSR giant is redefining how fast food gets served. But what happens when the tech driving efficiency becomes a source of friction? When automation fails, orders back up, employees scramble, and customers get frustrated. That’s where platforms like Canopy come in. Remote monitoring and automation ensure technology works the way it should, before problems disrupt operations. Check out the following link to our latest article, that breaks down Chipotle’s automation strategy, its impact on employees and customers, and the challenges that come with innovation. https://lnkd.in/eMbY_4Yp

The problem with food & tech…. I can write this because Yaro Tsyhanenko knows I respect him and his alternative views, and anyway he asked what I thought. In this there is the statement “The product strategy is Happy customer experience + Happy PnL experience” True enough But then the rest of the 300 or so words make no reference to the consumer and the drivers of their happiness in relation to food. Freshness Quality Authenticity Value (not price) Delivery is a great option when TINA shows up. If Food tech folks started to understand that delivery is a distress purchase not a convenience purchase, that it’s driven by device not heart and that their product needs designing for delivery then they’ll lose less money than they currently are… Data based facts are just what they are. Adapt, adopt, ignore.
Here is Travis Kalanick‘s vision of the “Internet Food Hall” with numbers and details: Imagine a place where any dish from around the globe is just a click away. That’s the essence of the “Internet Food Hall” concept — offering unparalleled convenience through delivery or pickup options. With only 1.9% of meals currently delivered, the potential for growth is immense. However, this convenience is expensive. A meal prepared at home averages $4 and 44 minutes of your time. Opting for pickup? That’s $16 and 15 minutes. Delivery? The price jumps to $34, but it only takes a few minutes to place an order and receive it from a courier. City Storage Systems, led by Travis Kalanick, aims to revolutionize this market by integrating kitchens (CloudKitchens) software (Otter) and robotics (Lab37). The product strategy is Happy customer experience + Happy PnL experience. A superior customer experience is achieved by minimizing defects such as order inaccuracies, quality issues, and cancellations. Low Defects = Higher Retention = Increased Revenue. CloudKitchen’s statistics from approximately 10,000 locations: * A 13% defect rate correlates with an average order rating of 3.9 and an Annual Unit Volume (AUV) of $138K. * Reduce the defect rate to 2.4%, and the average order rating soars to 4.6, with an AUV boost to $262K (+89%). Mission Control, a software solution by Otter, excels in defect management, enhancing operational metrics significantly. Lab37 is pioneering modular robotic solutions, with its first product being a versatile bowl-making machine. By synergizing CloudKitchens, Otter, and Lab37, CSS plans to build the most cost-effective solution for the restaurant industry — elevating user experiences while driving down prices. It was great to hear about this concept and meet with Travis at the Food on Demand conference. What are your thoughts on it? #tech #delivery #pickup #restaurant #vision

Automating a task does not necessarily mean taking a human's job away. This article by Yahoo Finance does a great job of showing how this common thought does not always yield truth! https://lnkd.in/gFiipNHP #Automation #robots
