Did you catch The Thousand Bloom's appearance at our Celebration of Design? Thank you to Project Asian Joy and Pao Arts Center for generously sharing heaps of golden flowers! They brought a subtle champion's touch across the entire event. The Thousand Bloom public art project is presented by Pao Arts Center and curated by Lani Asuncion. This project is funded by the City of Boston Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture’s Un-monument initiative, supported by a grant from the Mellon Foundation. And don't miss Pao Arts Center's "The Story of Ink: A Lecture from Curator & Professor Aida Yuen Wong" on Thursday, December 12, at 6 p.m. Professor Aida Yuen Wong is curator of the exhibit "The Inventive Brush: Calligraphic Echoes from China, Japan, and Korea," which closes on the following day. The exhibit showcases the diversity of contemporary calligraphy, and features the works of Mike Yuguo Mei 梅宇國, Michiko Imai 今井美智子, and YoungSun Jang ???. It is presented in collaboration with the Japan Society of Boston and the Korean Cultural Society of Boston . https://lnkd.in/eptKiDDd

Recognized FAN Chinatown’s own Anita Yip’s blooms immediately. She worked tirelessly to design and execute this celebration of elders. Let’s give Anita her flowers, too!
