Watching Bren begin to build our family band has taught me a lot about entrepreneurship.My thoughts on family and startup culture, for what it’s worth: - building anything worthwhile is really. damn. hard - building anything worthwhile is often a complete mess during the seed round of business or of life… raising children.… launching a brand… raising capital… it just is. - people often will say/think “isn’t that cute” about your idea, in the beginning, and dismiss you. Don’t take it personally. And finally… grind it out and it will get easier. (And don’t worry if your back room is messy for an impromptu video shoot, or if others don’t see your vision. Learn the chords, and just keep going.)

Nobody ever claimed that running a business was simple. There will always be times when you wonder if becoming an entrepreneur is worth it, regardless of where you are in the startup process—whether you're just starting, have recently raised money, or are prepared to launch your product. But here’s a tough pill to swallow: one-third of them crash due to a lack of product demand, and the overall failure rate? A whopping 90%! As a first-gen entrepreneur navigating this wild ride, I’ve learned a few things (though by far my journey is just started) - Spend smart, save smart – it’s all about playing the long game. - Failures will happen. Take them on the chin and see them as the cost of growth. - Fundraising early might feel tempting, but it can mess with your vision. Raise funds when it feels right and stay in control of your narrative. - Every day comes with challenges – better build up a bank of positive reasons to keep pushing forward! - Don’t try to master everything. Focus on your strengths and delegate where you can. Everyone’s journey is different, and I’m still figuring out mine. Today was a great day. One of our founders got their first check from a professional investor. When Bego?a Fernández-Cid and I met with this founder, he shared with us he had decided to stop fundraising, and ditched reaching out to professional investors. We started working together and did several things, some of them being: Reworked the pitch. Built the whole company story from the ground up. Framed the fundrasing strategy. Started to build warm intros through EasyVC. After years bearing a sentiment of frustration and hopelessness, he got into the right circles and closed an investment with a renown investor. Now they're starting to build up momentum and climbing up the funding round. The best thing? Knowing he always was a great founder. We didn't change who he was. We didn't change his company. We helped him framing his fundraising process and dug deep into his ambitions to build a unique story that will encourage others to jump onboard. And now he is one step closer to build his dreams and bring the necessary people around him to close the funding round. This is why we decided to build EasyVC.
