A year ago, the Cathy Hopper Friendship Center in Clairemont was closed—leaving local seniors without a space to connect, move, and engage with their community. Through policy and advocacy, SDSCF helped bring it back to life. Now, one year later, the center isn’t just open—it’s thriving. With new funding, seniors in Clairemont are stepping outside, connecting across generations, and leading as Senior Ambassadors. Volunteers are growing, intergenerational programs are expanding, and nature walks are bringing more joy, movement, and purpose to older adults. This is what happens when a community invests in its elders. ?? See the impact of our Empowerment Grants: https://lnkd.in/g_dqYb54
