From Shortlisted to Ghosted: The Sponsorship Saga ?? Recently, I applied for a position and received a positive response from the hiring manager, who expressed interest in setting up an interview, noting that my profile matched the requirements and skillsets needed for the role. The interview went great, and I thought I was on my way to joining their team. During the application process, I was upfront about needing sponsorship in the future, and despite this, I was shortlisted. But then, when they later asked about sponsorship and I confirmed my need for it after 2027, I suddenly found myself in the ghost town of job applications. It's now officially been 1 month since we launched Advance Sports and we have to say - the response has been more kind and positive than even our highest expectations. Thank you to all who have reached out and expressed support, interest and partnership ideas. Thus far, we’ve had the privilege of speaking with over 60 talented professionals who are looking to take the next step in their careers. Some are hoping for timing to meet opportunity and give them their first big break into sports. Some are already savvy veterans of the industry. Some have been recently laid off and just need a kind ear to listen and be empathetic.
