As we honor Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s shine a light on the journey of survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. The impact of trauma on mental health is profound and long-lasting. Survivors navigate a range of emotions, from fear and shame to anger and confusion. These can lead to mental health challenges like PTSD, depression, and anxiety. Healing is a journey, not a destination. Survivors need support, understanding, and access to trauma-informed care. Therapy can provide a safe space to process emotions and rebuild empowerment. This month, let’s raise awareness and support survivors on their path to healing. Together, we can break the stigma and create a compassionate world. Help Support Survivors: Every $25 donation helps provide essential mental health care. Your donation, when combined with others, creates monumental change for survivors. Bridge resource gaps and offer safety, support, and healing. Text “Donate” to 1-877-629-0767 to support our mission to rewrite statistics with narratives of hope. Empower survivors with $25 today for a safer, brighter future. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #MentalHealthMatters ?#SurvivorHealing #BreakTheStigma #BeALight #SupportSurvivors #WeAreShininngALight #SexualAssault #DomesticViolence #PleaseListen2Us #MenWillYouTakeAStand

Movember is here, and so is our commitment to men's mental health awareness. This month, the APW office starts November with freshly shaved beards and will be trading in clean shaves for some stylish mustaches in support of Movember. Why mustaches? Because they spark conversations - Conversations about men’s mental health. We are raising awareness and encouraging open discussions about important issues that affect many. Suicide is a topic we struggle to talk about, but a topic that is very close to my heart.?I have lost people very close to me and understand the value of open discussions and conversations about our emotions and well-being. At APW, we have joined The Movember Foundation and will be raising funds for their commitment to raise awareness and council for mental health – please see the link in the?comments. Join us this Movember by sporting your own mustache or sharing your story. YOUNG MINDS ?? #HelloYellow is our big, bright and very yellow annual campaign on World Mental Health Day! Every year, thousands of schools, offices and communities across the country come together to wear yellow and show young people they're not alone. And you can join them. By wearing yellow, and donating what you can, you can help us to provide ongoing support for young people and campaign for the services they need. Are you in? It takes courage to ask for help. But for many young people who do, the support they need just isn’t there. Hundreds of thousands of young people are struggling with their mental health, but too many are being told to wait, struggling to cope and hitting a crisis point before they get help. But things can get better. And we’re leading the movement for change. We provide young people with the tools to look after their mental health. We empower adults to be the best support they can be to the young people in their lives. And we give young people the space and confidence to get their voices heard and change the world we live in. Together, we can create a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health. Just a little summary of young minds supports and you can find out so much more on there website below ???? ?? https://lnkd.in/eGpp4kRs

In this video, Barry Murphy sheds light on the widespread nature of mental illness. It’s a reality that affects millions of Canadians, often in ways we don’t always see or acknowledge. 1 in 5 Canadians will experience mental illness in any given year. This powerful statistic serves as a reminder that mental health challenges are more common than many might think, touching families, friends, and communities across the country. Barry emphasizes the importance of conversation in breaking the stigma surrounding mental illness. By openly talking about mental health, we create a more understanding and supportive environment, allowing individuals to seek the help they need without fear or shame. Your support matters. By donating to the Mental Health Foundation's 1 in 5 Campaign, you can help fund programs and services that break down barriers and make mental health care more accessible. Every donation helps build a stronger, more compassionate Alberta. #OneInFive_AB #MentalHealthMatters #SupportMentalHealth
