My recommendation for the coming of age thriller El Norte by Harald Johnson The characters are well crafted and it is easy to become engaged in the story from page one. There are some heart stopping moments and also a growing admiration for Jager as he moves from being a reclusive young man into one fighting for survival. If you enjoy thrillers with great characters and surprising twists and turns along the way then I can highly recommend this book.

Hundreds of people could give you different insights regarding this book. Mine will always be: how stunning piece of art he has given the world– this book. Ocean Vuong exquisitely depicted his experience in this book in a very poetic and raw manner. It is half-biography, and half-novel. If you are someone who resonates with lines written in a poetic manner, this is the book for you. It is culmination of many voices and stories flowing together, and all of these ended up interfering with the main character's– little dog–life. It is about the Vietnam War, but more than that how the impacts of the war go beyond the time. how traumas can be passed onto generations. and how pain can simply flow within a community, and Ocean Vuong, being an refugee in America, picked up that pain and shared what that particular phantom torture provoked in him. My favourite part about this is the main character's connection with his mother. The main character wholly comprehends the grief and trauma of his mother and grandmother, but what his mother does also give rises to so much broken inside of him. Some of my favourite lines from the book: -"It only takes a single night of frost to kill off a generation. To live, then, is a matter of time, of timing." -"What is a country, but a life sentence?" -"..., that simply knowing the wound exists does nothing to reveal it." Why am I talking about this book? -I know, for many people, a book like this would seem futile. but it's not. I think our experiences shaped who we are, but that doesn't mean, after their purpose is cultivated, they demolished. They are still just there in the form of different emotions, and life gets heart-wrecking because of them. and if your experiences are like Ocean Vuong; you will be understood through this book. and this is all we need: to be understood in our daily life. But you should with a clear mind go through the trigger warnings, and what things are talked about or mentioned in this book, and whether it will be okay for you to read about them, or not. It's solely your choice. In other words, this book will always be one of my favorite books. And I am looking forward to talking more about books as a bookworm. -mubashira jawed

We all have a story worth telling. Here's mine, found in my book, LIBERIAN BOY: TRIUMPH OVER WAR'S SHADOW. I share my journey of overcoming the challenges of being a refugee for seven years, coping with the loss of my siblings, and navigating through many hardships. I explain how I transformed these traumas into a way to take control of my destiny. Grab a copy, give it a read, and I'd love to hear your thoughts in a review! https://a.co/d/hljowq3

Another hit by one of the best! I am a huge Elin Hilderbrand fan, and I am so glad that I loved her latest book, Swan Song, since it was the last one she wrote before retiring. I have a feeling it won't be her last book, though. Swan Song is the perfect title for this book. I always saved a Hilderbrand book to read on my summer vacations. It became sort of a tradition. Her books are light and fun, and since this series always took place on Nantucket, I felt like I was vacationing with the characters in the book. Although Swan Song can be a standalone book, I loved all of the little "nods" to her previous books throughout the story. It was like reminiscing about your childhood. This book has more mystery than usual, friendship, family drama, romance, but my favorite part is always the characterization in Hilderbrand's novels. You feel as if you are living the story with them. My favorite character was Coco, who didn't actually grow up on the island. She was fierce and vulnerable at the same time. I just wanted to take her under my wing. I also loved the Chief, but I usually do in her books. He is someone I would want to hang out with in real life. I gave this book five out of five stars. It's a great summer read. Thank you to NetGalley, Little, Brown, and Ms. Hilderbrand for my free copy of this book. This review is my honest opinion. https://amzn.to/45lcZTb #elinhilderbrand #littlebrown #swansong #bookreviews #netgalley #bookrecommnedation #books #nantucket #authors #summerread

Book Link https://amzn.to/3PDNc1w My Review 2025 #7 It focuses on an engaging thriller centered on the life of Gabriela who does not conform to the traditional gender roles. She has been depicted by the author as a product of the care sector and the author has integrated her history with the story to make her more complex. The fear barring Gabriella of the unknown person sets the perfect base for an intense plot fueled by psychological forces and insatiable chase. "Courage isn’t the absence of fear but the determination to stand against it, even when no one believes you." The novel focuses on the inner spirit of Gabriela. Her story, which has been filled with struggles against authorities and people’s disbelief, is portrayed as one against systemic indifference and neglect. The visualization of policemen regarding her as a nuisance presents a realistic aspect of the case that increases readers’ irritation towards her situation and makes them feel for her. All in all, a good thriller is being presented where the main character is a woman with a strong attitude formulated as determined heroine Unlike the rest of the genre, it combines themes of motivation, lack of some members of society, and courage which is why it is an enjoyable book. People who enjoy psychological thrillers and those who gain from motivational stories will not be disappointed. Who is your favorite author? In the movie Misery, there is no doubt that Annie Wilkes’s favorite is Paul Sheldon She loves his work so much that she does something drastic Paul is the author of a bestselling series of books whose main character is Misery Chastain, but he wants to do try new things and therefore kills off Misery Annie is so upset about Paul ending the series that she kidnaps him and forces him to write a new Misery book It’s pretty scary but at least she didn’t make Paul write a new will leaving her his fortune What would have happened had Annie gone for the money rather than just another book with her favorite character? Well, I’ve worked on a lot of estates finding missing heirs and inheritance assets Sometimes heirs who don’t get as much as they expected claim that the deceased only left the will he or she did due to duress or coercion When they ask me what to do about it, I tell them to consult an attorney but that invalidating a will is an uphill battle Not that it can’t be done, just that it can be an expensive process with no guarantee of success Of course, if Paul’s heirs saw that he left all of his estate to a woman they never heard of and who kidnapped him, they would probably have a strong case Anyway, who is your favorite author? #inheritance #probate #missingheir #unclaimedproperty #moviemonday

Hello Readers, Another weekend, another book recommendation. ?? My recommended book of the week is - The Kite Runner ?? by Khaled Hosseini. The most underrated thing one can have is a good friend who can fight and support you beyond limits. This book mirrors a poignant exploration of friendship, betrayal and the enduring power of redemption. Set against the backdrop of Afghanistan's tumultuous history, the story follows Amir and Hassan as they navigate the complexities of their childhood bond. The most compelling aspects of The Kite Runner is its exploration of guilt and redemption. While the novel's exploration of sensitive topics may be challenging for some readers, it's USP lies in its ability to evoke empathy and understanding. The lines delivered by the author will get etched in your hearts forever. ?? A boy who won't stand up for himself becomes a man who can't stand up to anything." This quote highlights the importance of courage and standing up for what is right. ?? There is only one sin, only one. And that is theft. Every other sin is a variation of theft. When you kill a man, you steal a life. When you tell a lie, you steal someone's right to the truth. There is no act more wretched than stealing. This book is a testament to the human spirit's capacity for both cruelty and kindness, reminding us that even in the face of adversity, the power of love and forgiveness can prevail. So when are you going to read it? If you have already given it a read, drop your favourite quote in comments below. #linekdinforcreators #thekiterunner
