The recent manufacturing meeting, a crucial platform for strategic topics and best-practice sharing, served as a cornerstone for SEBN′s operations. Following the invitation of Kazumitsu Fukada, Managing Director Manufacturing, the COOs and CFOs of all SEBN plants, key players in our operations, met @SEBN-MA. On top of exchanging future-oriented topics, the participants had the opportunity to tour the production facilities in Tangier and Salé, a significant part of our operations. Toyo Tire Corporation has appointed new senior managers within its European and North American businesses, with Tomohisa Yamaguchi to lead Toyo Tire Holdings of Europe GmbH and Tatsuo Mitsuhata taking the helm of Toyo Tire Holdings of Americas. As we continue to introduce our company history through our 2024 calendar, the theme chosen for June is "上を見て歩こう" which roughly translates to ”Let’s keep our chin up, facing the sky as we walk forward" It was the 1960's when Japan was riding a wave of high economic growth, and Fujimori Kogyo was addressing customer challenges one after another, rapidly?iterating failed prototypes to achieve?market-ready products for our customers. During the early stages of production development, Cubitainer, SPZ and retort pouch packaging for Bon Curry all proved difficult to achieve stable production and?commercialization. Of course, all of these are well known products in Japan now. But the?valuable learning from these challenging developments?has given us the competence we needed to further develop our products and achieve top market shares across multiple different industries. In addition, our expansion into the logistics?industry with industrial strength coverings freight?shipments (HI-PY sheets) was a turning point for us, as this drove us to be one of the first companies in Japan to establish an overseas subsidiary when other companies?were still hesitating for sake of related uncertainties. According to Yokohama Rubber, the groundbreaking ceremony held for its new Hangzhou Qiantang Yokohama Tire Co., Ltd. plant in China last Monday marks the start of construction of the first plant it is building under the ‘1-year plant’ challenge, the company’s strategy for growing its consumer tyre business. The aim of the 1-year plant challenge is to quickly construct efficient, low-cost manufacturing facilities to gain a “strong competitive position” within local markets, synergising Yokohama Rubber’s own experience with that of local partners. https://lnkd.in/dsd7YU7G

Japanese tyre manufacturer Toyo Tires has announced a major reorganisation of its European operations, which will see the company shift its regional headquarters to #Serbia and close existing sales subsidiaries in #Germany, the #Netherlands, #Italy and the #UK. The company, based in Itami City, Japan, said the changes are part of its long-term global strategy and will involve the creation of a new sales hub, Toyo Tire Sales and Marketing Europe, based in Indija, Serbia.
