It is important for us to realise that while making projects like this saves the future, in order to save the present we need to stop throwing garbage,waste etc. into our oceans and lakes and seas... ASFPM is proud to be an inaugural member of the America the Beautiful Freshwater Challenge:?A?Partnership to Conserve and Restore America’s?Rivers, Lakes,?Streams,?and Wetlands. Through this initiative, the Administration has set national goals to rebuild our nation’s wetlands and freshwater resources: 1) Reconnect, restore, and protect 8 million acres of wetlands by 2030, with an emphasis on forested, vegetated, peat soil, brackish, and tidal wetlands; and 2) Reconnect, restore, and protect 100,000 miles of our nations’ rivers and streams by 2030, using approaches like removal of impediments and stream bank restoration.

Reroot Flint and Reroot Pontiac spoke on TV5 last week about the Reroot mission and about a new project in Flint, MI. In Flint Michigan we have planted the beginning stages of a living willow structure. The purpose of this is to eliminate flooding in that portion of Kearsley Park and utilize the phytoremediation properties of the tree to increase the health of the local environment.
