In a new initiative launched in Denver last week, hospitality leaders across the city joined Visit Denver in announcing, "Boredom is Fired." Highlighting the career opportunities in tourism, leisure, and hospitality, the workforce initiative is geared toward high school-age students and young adults residing in metro Denver. "It is essential that the travel, leisure, and hospitality industry invest in the next generation of workers and leaders," said Sage Hospitality Group CEO and Co-Founder Walter Isenberg. "Sage Hospitality is proud to support this workforce development initiative and is committed to hiring and uplifting young people across our business." Mercantile dining & provision, the award-winning restaurant by James Beard Award Winner Chef Alex Seidel at Denver's Union Station, has joined our incredible portfolio of independent bars and restaurants. Known for its focus on classic comfort food with a modern spin, Mercantile has consistently been recognized as one of the best restaurants in Denver, most recently receiving a “Recommended” listing in the 2023 Colorado Michelin Guide. With the Denver location’s 10th anniversary approaching, our Sage Restaurant Concepts team is looking forward to a thoughtful renovation of the space and working alongside Chef Siedel to bring the Mercantile experience to new cities. ?? Known for its beautifully restored historic fa?ade and central location across from Denver Center for the Performing Arts, its name derived from the Italian word for Theater, is fitting. “For 40 years, Sage has been a part of Denver’s vibrant community, and we are excited to continue this journey with the addition of Hotel Teatro and The Nickel,” said Daniel del Olmo, our president of hotels and restaurants.
