The Point-In-Time (PIT) count is the annual process of identifying and counting individuals and families experiencing sheltered and unsheltered homelessness in New Mexico. Here is the 2023 report and soon the 2024 report will come out!

Instead of casting judgment, let's work together to create solutions that address the root causes of homelessness and provide support and resources for those who need it. Let's listen to their stories and experiences, and work towards a world where everyone has access to safe and stable housing. Remember, empathy goes a long way. If you chat with someone we support, you’ll quickly see their humanity, just like anyone else. They have hopes for the future. They may have made mistakes they regret. But most commonly, you’ll see that they are doing what they can to move onto a more meaningful life. How we do this will vary from person to person. No matter what the journey home looks like, it’s one they will never have to face alone. So, homelessness is not a choice. Or the result of being a bad person. With a bit of bad luck and a lack of support, it could happen to anyone including you or me. Homelessness may not be a choice but we can choose to end it for good.
