On Nothing Without Us, Stories and Discussions of Meaningful Inclusion, Annette and Allyson discussed the challenges and potential solutions for the Olmstead plan in Rhode Island, focusing on issues such as transportation, staffing in nursing homes, and the state's approach to healthcare. They also expressed concerns about the state's bureaucracy, overregulation, mismanagement of federal policies, and the need for more proactive and collaborative approaches to address these issues. We loved hosting Federal Health Minister Mark Butler MP and Member for Aston Mary Doyle MP at our Burwood Highway site in Ferntree Gully last week to talk through the challenges and opportunities of community-based healthcare – including the imminent loss of funding to Reconnexion, our specialist benzodiazepine dependency and withdrawal support service.? ?? This week, we’ll be welcoming Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah MP to our Patterson St site in Ringwood East to learn more about our customers’ needs, and especially our Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic.? ? We are proud to announce new one-time funding awarded to multiple organizations to support the creation and expansion of close to sixty school-based health centers (SBHCs) across four counties in Connecticut. This initiative will bring vital, culturally sensitive, and age-appropriate healthcare services directly to elementary through high school students in communities statewide, improving access to quality care where it’s needed most.
