I know I tell you all a lot about what I’m doing but today let's change it up. I thought it was worth highlighting some people I’ve met with recently who have made me think WOW. Linda Yue and Catherine Swindin: The dream team: 2 x Level 7 qualified CDPs working together to deliver an excellent careers offer at Judd School. I’ve not seen many schools that have TWO employed CDPs who are qualified at this level. The impact is clear. Two passionate careers people brimming with ideas, wanting to do things better each year, curious, and collaborative. I finished my call with them this morning well jel at their ability to constantly bounce ideas off each other and drive change. Looking forward to seeing you both at the Judd School for Year 10 CV workshops soon. Michael Tarrant: Wow, the students at Nexus School LOVE Michael and I can see why. Kind, calm, patient, fun, empowering - an amazing person who students look up to. They were quick to name Michael as someone who would support them and someone they could discuss their plans with. What a person to have on your team in life. And a person to have as your post-16 leader of learning and careers lead. Text description: A bubblegum pink square with a centred beige off-centre banner with YOU ARE AMAZING written in capitals in bottle green text. The YOU ARE AMAZING message is repeated at the top and bottom of the image.

A few years back, There was an interview for young graduates and there was this dude(John) who had exactly impressed anyone from his Educational Qualifications and all that. At the tail end of the interview, he was asked the routine question, "What project have you built?" John smiled sheepishly like someone who had just won a jackpot and blurted, "Is that really necessary?" The drop-dead silence that followed his question for a minute was enough to make him realize he had made a mistake. Obviously, it was something he had learnt but failed to know that Knowledge is potential, but still fail in career until you put it in action. Application is power. Don't be like John, who had the knowledge but lack application. Invest in yourself. #TechEducation

#Throwback to 18 May 2024 when my friends and I were invited to be part of the panel for the mock interview program involving the graduating students of INTERSABER. There are many great things about this! To begin with, it was a prompt invitation. The day before, my friend Mukhlis (most right, Partner of Messrs Wong & Kiu) called "hey bro there's this mock interview at my school, wanna join?" and I replied "If it's you asking, I'm down for it bro!". Our brotherhood is just that strong! Secondly, making new friends is my favourite part. That night at Mukhlis' crib, Aiman (beside me) arrived. It did not take long before we were already talking like we are really close, joking with each other and laugh until we suffocated. Well, that's how easy boys make bros. It was a fun night and we slept very late! ?? At 6 am on the event day, we fetched my another new friend Haifa, and off we went. The mock interview was not only a good program for the Intersabers but it was definitely a great exposure for me too! I was astonished to see some of the Intersabers we interviewed are very ambitious and their dreams are extraordinary. A girl proudly said "I want to be a digital cybersecurity programmer" and she knows coding! I was paired with Haifa as panel and we have read great achievements in their resumes, we have heard very persuasive answers and we have seen great characters. We decided to go fully English to challenge them but these Intersabers have high proficiency in English. High school students being high school students, some of them still have not envisioned their path and future, and we tell them it's okay because "you are in your own timeline and pace. You can ignore the peer pressure and societal pressure. Look at your resume, you got 11A+, you have actually surpassed us!" I tell them even I whom is going towards 30, have not figured out things in life. Because I am trying things too and I am still in the failing phase. Only through failures, one learns new lessons. During the feedback session, we just cannot not acknowledging their excellence during the mock interview and their preparation for the mock interview. They have done thorough research on their path into the high education institutions of their dreams, the area that they want to pursue, their career path. After the program, I was reassured that we will still have talents and leaders who will contribute to Malaysia in the future. The last interesting part was that my new friends and I just knew each other and it was already our first day-trip! After the mock interview ended at 2 pm, we went off to try out good food and stuff, karaoke in the car, enjoyed the sunset by the beach and had fun along the way. We arrived Mukhlis' place at night and we parted our ways. It was a great day with great people that I just have to commemorate them here! ?
