I need to get this off my mind; it’s been weighing on me. Lately, there’s been too much divisive language, especially aimed at women in leadership. As someone who values democracy and freedom, I believe we’re stronger when we choose respect and unity. Imagine if our own mothers, sisters, and friends were treated this way. Let’s uplift one another and be a positive example to the world. We can build a brighter, more respectful future—together. #Unity #Respect #Community #Kindness

Embracing Allyship: A Commitment to Equality and Inclusion Today, I was listening to a webinar hosted by D&I leaders on how to act as an ally and advocate for women. This is a topic close to my heart. As we all work to create a more equitable future, I wanted to share some thoughts and invite you to join the conversation. To me, allyship entails advocating for and supporting those who face systemic barriers. It is about actively supporting marginalised communities and striving for a more inclusive world. I've realised that allyship is more than a buzzword; it's a powerful force for change. It's about acknowledging our common humanity and using our voices to tell others' stories. Webinar Takeaways Active listening, continuous learning, and using privilege to help others are the guiding principles of effective allyship. ??If you have privilege, use it for good. Speak out against injustice, use your platform to amplify marginalised voices, and actively work to create inclusive spaces. ??Take time to hear the stories, experiences, and challenges faced by those whose voices are frequently marginalised. ??Stay informed about the experiences of various communities. Challenge your own biases and seek to understand perspectives other than your own. #Allyship #TogetherWeRise #ChangeMakers

??? It’s International Women’s Day… ???? The theme this year is about Inspiring Inclusion. So for me, working with and spending so much of my time with inspirational women, it’s important for me to highlight the power of Allyship. Allyship isn't just a buzzword—it's a cornerstone of progress. ?? In a world where diversity, equity, and inclusion are paramount, being an ally means actively supporting and advocating for marginalized communities. It's about lending your voice, amplifying others', and taking meaningful action to dismantle systemic barriers. ?? For the women who inspire me everyday and to any Father with a daughter growing up in a world where more equity will create unrestricted opportunity… Let’s commit to being allies every day, in every space, and together, we can create a more inclusive and equitable future for all. #IWD #Allyship #DiversityandInclusion #equitymatters #inspireinclusion

The way we think, our self talk and the words we speak about ourselves to each other can be the catalyst for great change and inspire the next generation to pursue things once only allowed for men. Hopefully, you can point to a woman in your life, whether it was a parent, teacher, neighbour, co-worker who has inspired you and helped you identify yourself as someone unique who has gifts to offer the world. There is no limit to what any one of us can do. However it often requires change. This is the process of Transformation. It is changing from who you are to the person you want to be through a determined commitment to a series of new habits and routines. This is what we are doing in The Girl Force Movement What makes The Girl Force Movement any different? It is our focus. We are an inclusive community empowering Girl Child Advocates so that they can empower the Girl Child in their communities of influence. We want the Girl Child Advocate who joins our digital community on the first day to become a more informed and courageous Girl Child Advocate as she/he continues to journey alongside us. We are here for the long haul, supporting each other to evolve into the best version of themselves. We want Girl Child Advocates to grow through life together. That takes being intentional and willing to engage in conversations around the challenges the girl child faces. In the words of my Rotary D7680 district Governor, Debbie Corbett, Let us dare to take action care with all our heart, share our stories and ideas That is how transformation occurs. This is how we build Leadership Capacity Come and hear me speak about our work at the Commission on the Status of Women Session 68 (CSW68) Bridging Development Gaps to Increase Women's Empowerment, Leadership, & Rights Details are Date: March 11th Time: 12:30 - 2:00 pm ET Place: https://lnkd.in/dXyyXFZx #womenempowerment #womenempoweringwomen #womenchangemakers #CSW68

As a woman we often discuss feminism, equal rights, and various social issues… But have you ever wondered why we are the ones who always take the first step? Whether it’s serving food, cleaning up, cooking everyone’s favorite meals, or anxiously waiting for our children to be home by 4 PM, many women naturally embrace these responsibilities, both at home and in the workplace. It's an instinct to stay ahead and ensure everything runs smoothly. We rarely seek help, not because we can't, but because we love taking care of everything ourselves. This nurturing nature often leads others to become dependent on us. To truly transform this dynamic, it’s our duty to empower ourselves and others by sharing responsibilities. We can create a balanced environment where everyone grows and thrives together. Let's embrace change and work towards a future of mutual respect and equality.

Excited to champion the incredible power of diversity in every industry! ?? I'm a firm believer in the strength that comes from our unique experiences, especially for women who are transforming challenges into triumphs daily. It's not just about overcoming societal limitations; it's about recognizing these challenges as opportunities to innovate and lead. But why stop there? Let's broaden our horizon to include all minorities, recognizing the unique value and perspectives they bring. Disabilities, cultural differences, and beyond - every voice matters and enriches our collective journey. I invite you to share your stories of empowerment, challenge, and success. How have you or someone you know turned a perceived limitation into a strength? Let's inspire and be inspired, fostering a community where every voice is heard, and every challenge is seen as an opportunity for growth. #DiversityInAction #Empowerment #InclusionMatters #StrengthInDiversity #VoicesHeard #ChallengeAccepted #TogetherWeCan (Typos are also a kind of limitation, especially for GPT??)

?? A Valuable Resource on Belonging and Representation ?? I came across this insightful report by the Utah Women & Leadership Project (UWLP) focusing on the experiences of Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander women in Utah. It provides a thoughtful exploration of their contributions, challenges, and opportunities to foster belonging and equity. This report highlights important topics such as: The strength of cultural identity and community. Areas where barriers still exist, including access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. Ways we can all help create more inclusive and supportive spaces. It’s a meaningful read for anyone passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion. Let’s continue the conversation about uplifting underrepresented voices and working toward a future where everyone feels they truly belong. ?? Take a moment to explore the report here: https://lnkd.in/gdes_uSx ?? What stood out to you? I’d love to hear your thoughts. #Belonging #DiversityAndInclusion #Equity #Community #NativeHawaiian #PacificIslander

Dynamic and inclusive, Here is Laura Valencia reading S. S is for spiteful. Laura excels as a community organizer and coalition builder, skillfully uniting individuals for collective action and social change, embodying leadership and collaboration in her dedication to fostering unity and empowerment. The Latin word despectus, or "scorn or contempt," became the English despite, later shortened to spite, or "a desire to hurt someone." Spite and revenge share similarities in motivation of retaliation and desire to inflict harm. Both can stem from anger, betrayal, or injustice. Society often applauds men seeking revenge as acts of heroism or justice, while women are stigmatized or labeled as vindictive. That being said, women need to do better. In the game of life, it's not about who holds the grudge, but who can let it go with style. #WomenSupportingWomen #WomenEmpowerment #GirlPower #Feminist #WomenInBusiness #WomenInPolitics #WomenLeaders #WomenEmpoweringWomen #WomenInspiringWomen #InternationalWomensDay2024 #GenderEquality #WomenRights #WomenHistory #EqualRights #WomenRise #WomenStrong #WomenUnited #EmpoweredWomen #WomenInSTEM #WomenHealth #abrasive #theempowermentalphabet
