We were very disappointed to have missed this event by National Guardian's Office but here is a great summary for those, like us, who are obsessed with everything to do with #speakup culture. So many of these points resonate. The three biggies for us are: 1 - Psychological safety. Without it there is zero speakup culture to talk about. Start with #PsychologicalSafety and then move to #speakupculture 2 - LISTEN! Building feedback loops, or if you are on top if this stuff, and have put in place thoughtful and nuances #speakupchannels, the next thing you must do is listen and acknowledge what you heard. So that is, listen and then communicate 3 - One of the ones that is missing from the illustration is Comms. How you communicate your speakup goals, aims, channels, policies, etc is ALL about Communication. Nobody successfully built a speakup culture and performance anchored in trust and equity, without exceptional comms people! We salute all the comms people at our client partners ?? We hope to be at the next event!

Post-Traumatic Growth! Struggle into strength. I choose growth. Honored to speak on a panel with Josh Goldberg CEO of Boulder Crest Foundation and Lamont Christian, Director, Posttraumatic Growth Training, Big Red Barn Retreat at the 2024 Global Minded Conference in Denver. The panel is entitled "From Victim to Victor: How Veterans Can Teach Us to Transform Struggle Into Strength, Growth, and Resilience".
Tomorrow is the second-ever National Posttraumatic Growth Day. A day to remind all of us that growth is possible in the aftermath of stress, struggle, hardship, and trauma. Far too few people have heard of PTG, and a critical part of our work is to make sure that changes. Today we are launching the #ChooseGrowth campaign — in league with a coalition of amazing partners and friends. At the core of this is a quote from Mandy Pifer, who lost her fiancee in the ISIS-related shooting in San Bernandino in 2015: "You have to know that Posttraumatic Growth exists in order for it to happen. You have to know it's okay to have good things happen after really bad things." Please spread the word and make sure that all those who struggle know that how things are isn't how they have to be.
