The days of neutral comments are fading, as employees share more candid, and often critical, perspectives. With the power of Culture Amp’s data lake (over 1.3 billion data points and growing), our research team translated raw data into insights and trends that HR teams can leverage to build out their people strategy. By capturing honest feedback through surveys, organizations can offer employees a space to express themselves and feel heard. Comments becoming less neutral and more negative truly brings into focus the need to create space for people to share what’s really on their minds—because sometimes, just *being heard* makes all the difference. Today, my manager gave me a shoutout in our ‘Achievements’ Teams chat for an Excel spreadsheet I created to automate data analysis for a quarterly survey ?? It wasn’t just the recognition itself I loved, it was the reactions from my teammates: ?????? Something as small as a thumbs-up or celebratory emoji may seem insignificant, but it made me feel so valued ?? It takes only seconds to recognise someone's effort, but the impact can last for days, weeks - even longer. Whether it’s a ‘thank you’ in person, a quick message, or a simple emoji, those moments of recognition fuel positivity and connection within teams ?? It’s one of the simplest, most cost-effective ways to boost morale, retain talent, and make people feel good about what they do???? And the best part??? Anyone can do it! ?? You don’t need to be in a leadership role to recognise someone’s contribution - you just need to care enough to notice ?? So, let’s make it a habit to acknowledge the hard work and creativity around us. Only 24% of workers strongly agree that their employer cares about their overall well-being, Gallup said in a?study?released earlier this month. That’s down from 49% in May of 2020. Gallup identified five pillars of well-being: career, social, physical, financial, and community. At most, 15% of employees strongly believed their employer supported any one element. Let's not assume what people want or need in order to feel fulfilled and productive in their careers and life. 1. Involve people in the decision-making process when setting talent strategies. 2. Walk the Talk - don't create visions and values that are not role-modeled by action and behavior. 3. Take a longer-term view on talent strategies and be careful of the "flavor of the month". And if introducing new initiatives, running pilots and showing quick wins will help breakdown resistance. 4. Regularly gather feedback and measure to understand what is working or not. #talent #culture #people

The evolution of an organisation’s way of working, and thereby its culture, depends heavily upon two things - people and their voices. Understanding people, their behavioural trends and patterns, will give you an answer for where the gaps in your organisation are. Understanding people’s voices will give you an answer to why those gaps exist. It’s like a mystery that can be solved with astute deductive reasoning after studying the compiled data. What gets measured gets actioned? Right? According to a CIPD survey, only 38% of HR Leaders collect some workforce diversity monitoring data and even smaller percentage do anything with the data. Without a data driven approach, it’s a bit like going on an impulse shop without really knowing what you're buying or why you need it. Sound familiar?! And only 1 in 10 CEOs and HR Leaders report having or planning to invest in a DE&I Strategy. In an ever evolving world of work, you can't afford to stick your head in the sand.
