As International Women's Day approaches, we find ourselves reflecting on one of history's most overlooked forms of feminine resistance and cultural preservation. The?Afghan war rugs?present the most profound example of textile resistance in modern history. In these extraordinary works, women transformed traditional motifs into visual chronicles of conflict—weaving tanks, helicopters, and weapons alongside ancestral patterns. Afghanistan's women weaving circles created communal spaces where oral histories flourished through songs and stories shared during creation.
