Can Our Work Environment Really Measure Productivity??? A few days ago, I ran a poll?? asking which work environment is most efficient: remote or onsite. The results? A 50/50 split! It was a clear reminder that productivity is unique to each individual. For some, the buzz of the office and real-time collaboration fuel their best work, while others find their flow and focus in a remote setting. Yet despite this balance, remote work requests often face doubt. If someone isn’t thriving onsite and asks for remote flexibility, why not give it a shot? Just because someone finds productivity away from the office doesn’t make them any less valuable. Let’s remember: Productivity isn’t about where we work but how well we work where we are.???? Remote vs In-office vs Hybrid... This is not a debate I want to have. I would rather discuss why some organizations are moving back to in-office work schedules. Building effective teams is no easy feat even when the teams works in-office, every day of the week, all year round. So why would this be any easier when team members are working remotely? High performing teams deliver, regardless of where they are based or working from. There are high performing teams that work remotely, and in-office, and hybrid. The focus of most of the debates are based around the location of work and, in my opinion, not enough focus is put on where most organizations fall short. Knowing how to build high performing team cultures. This is also not a one-size fits all topic. It is evolving every day. I believe more emphasis needs to be put on building a healthy team culture, rather than having disgruntled discussions regarding how many days one needs to be in office. And yes I get it, I also hate traffic, but that's besides the point. Without people an organization cannot deliver.
