There's a crazy amount of ghost jobs and companies ghosting job applications recently so I made a website where job seekers can anonymously report companies for ghosting you. We have built?https://ghostedd.com/ so that candidates can "do something" about getting ghosted as I, personally, feel powerless whenever I get ghosted and sending follow ups can get annoying. We're on a mission to help change the culture around ghosting and I hope that this website will thrive and alert companies that it's not cool to ghost. I also hope that it'll give future candidates peace of mind when it comes to thinking if they've been ghosted or not. It's time to hold recruiters/companies accountable.

Beware of Free Labor Scams in Creative Recruitment To all fellow video editors and designers, here’s an important warning: If a recruiter asks for your project file while assigning a task, proceed with caution. Most of the time, this is a tactic to get free labor. They can reuse your project with minor changes, and in many cases, they might use it exactly as it is. Red Flags to Watch Out For: Multiple Tasks: If a recruiter shares more than one task upfront, there’s over a 60% chance it’s a fake recruitment process. Many faceless YouTube channels use this strategy to source at least three videos weekly without paying for the work. Faceless YouTube Channels: For projects like these, either: Add a visible, large watermark to your work. Or ask for payment upfront. Keep in mind: YouTube content can generate revenue even with watermarked videos, as YouTube doesn’t claim copyright for watermarks. LinkedIn Scams: Be cautious of posts asking you to “comment your email or portfolio” under fake job listings. When you upload your work to platforms like Google Drive and share access, you’re unknowingly giving recruiters the ability to download your entire portfolio. These scammers can easily create a collection of stolen work by simply browsing through such posts. Tips to Stay Safe: Always verify recruiters: Check if their profile is legitimate and associated with a credible company. Limit access to your portfolio: Use watermarked files or restricted sharing options to protect your work. Avoid giving away source files: Only share final deliverables after payment has been made. Ask questions: If the recruiter seems vague or unwilling to provide clear details about the role or payment, it’s likely a scam. The faceless YouTube video scam has been around for over two years now, and it’s still catching unsuspecting creatives off guard. Don’t let your hard work go unpaid or misused.
