“One of the beauties of being human is that there are so many perspectives to learn from. You can’t learn everything about everyone, but just take a step to learn about people’s struggles, victories, and contributions to the world at large." Check out this inspiring piece on Juneteenth and creating a more inclusive future from McKinstry's Lavell Flamon:

Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the United States. Its official designation as a federal holiday in 2021 was a long-overdue recognition of the terror experienced by Black Americans and of the freedom denied to them for hundreds of years. It’s also a day to celebrate progress and reinvigorate our advocacy against systemic racism and bias in all forms. Today, let's celebrate the progress we’ve made and continue to support one another as we strive for a more inclusive future. Whether through allyship, sponsorship, mentorship, or partnership, we all have an opportunity to uplift colleagues, include new people, and advance equity. In honor of Juneteenth, Aicha Evans, CEO of Zoox and the first Black woman on SAP's Supervisory Board, joined SAP’s Black Employee Network for a discussion on innovation, leadership, and the future of mobility. It's a great discussion with an incredible leader, and I encourage you to take a moment to watch. https://lnkd.in/gYCQpYUM #Juneteenth #Inclusion #Diversity #Equity #BENatSAP

Black Girl Day Off – National Today nationaltoday.com Today, on Black Girl Day Off, I embrace the opportunity to reflect on my journey with a neurosparkly brain—a term I use to describe my neurodivergent mind. This path has been both unique and enlightening, presenting challenges that have ultimately strengthened my Human Resources acumen, enriched my parenting approach, transformed my adult relationships, and propelled my national speaking career. In the realm of Human Resources, my distinctive way of thinking has allowed me to approach problems with creativity and empathy. Understanding the diverse needs of individuals has become second nature, enabling me to foster more inclusive and supportive work environments. As a parent, embracing my neurodivergence has taught me patience and adaptability. It has deepened my connection with my children, allowing me to support their growth with compassion and insight. In my adult relationships, viewing the world through a neurosparkly lens has encouraged me to appreciate different perspectives. This appreciation has led to deeper, more meaningful connections with others. Moreover, my experiences have inspired me to share my story on a national stage, advocating for neurodiversity and mental health awareness. What some might have seen as obstacles, I have transformed into opportunities—turning lemons into lemonade. On this Black Girl Day Off, I encourage all Black women to prioritize their mental well-being. Our unique experiences and challenges are valid, and taking time to nurture ourselves is essential. Let us continue to break the stigma surrounding mental health in our communities and support one another in our journeys. If you're interested in learning more about Black Girl Day Off and its significance, you can visit the National Today page linked above.

By incentivizing cooperation across sectors and leveraging emerging technologies, Tullman Community Ventures strives to develop sustainable solutions that enable lasting change.
