I was lucky enough to write this piece for Insurance-Edge.Net on the currently stratospherically hyped topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI) or as David Cushman recently suggested Faux Intelligence (FI) - as it should perhaps be termed ?? Is It Time to Introduce Licensed AI Companies? ?? "With AI now firmly at peak hype ?? , giant leaps being made daily, and rushed releases of new tools hitting the market, the concern is understandable ?? . There’s a need to understand the implications of this technology and ensure we make it act in our best interests. One way to do this is to ensure people understand how to act responsibly." ?? Regulation, licensing and so on are seen by some as negative and likely placing unnecessary burden on progress, but that's an issue with how they are constructed and applied as opposed to whether they are needed. " We know from the 'social media experiment' ?? that trying to retrospectively regulate new technologies or technology-driven environments is incredibly complex. So the alternative appears to be proactivity. ??
