Meet Susie Banikarim! Our first guest for the 2025 Winter season of There Will Be Snacks: "'A powerhouse in the world of news', Susie Banikarim is an Emmy award-winning journalist, filmmaker, and media executive known for her work on media issues and criticism, politics, pop culture, and diversity. Beginning her career at ABC News, Banikarim went on to hold senior roles at Newsweek, The Daily Beast, Vocativ, Gizmodo Media Group, and Vice Media, contributing to groundbreaking projects across TV, print, and digital. A former Nieman Fellow at Harvard, she became the first filmmaker-in-residence at Harvard University’s Shorenstein Center. There, she directed and produced, "Enemies of the People: Trump and the Political Press", a documentary about media coverage of the 2016 presidential election, which was nominated for two Emmy Awards. She is currently the executive producer and co-host of, "In Retrospect with Susie Banikarim and Jessica Bennett", a podcast from iHeart Podcasts and The Meteor.” On January 23rd, Susie will be speaking with us about podcasting and the future of media.
