To all of you who say, "I'll just wing it in the presentation", please see the level of attention and angst that a true professional puts into each syllable. This was Nikki Glaser's biggest opportunity of her career. Look at the level of detail in her prep. Now compare the biggest presentation of your career. How'd you do?

Now I’m picturing her looking into the mirror and practicing her Adam Sandler voice for hours on end and I love it. Great share and spot on, Ron ??

I completely agree that prep for any presentation is critical for success. However, when 1 presentation is your ONLY responsibility, it's easy to devote 90+ run-throughs. This would be impossible for the executive who has hundreds of other priorities.

When you can 'wow' the people that make other people go 'wow', you have raised the bar. She was brilliant!

Nikki killed. And I love that she tells why! I'd LOVE to experience a new stand-up show from YOU,?Ron Tite! You have the same deep work ethic, and of course, you are hi-lar-i-ous!!!

I *love* hearing comedians discuss their process. I’ve devoured every podcast I can find where a comic is describing their daily work routine, their philosophy about their craft, and how they stay productive. Just last night I found video of Seinfeld meeting with Barry Marder about a premise for Barry’s tv show, and was inspired just by watching how they worked. I keep an eye out for similar podcasts from musicians, but it’s far less common. There’s plenty of YouTube shows with musicians discussing already-existing music, and gear (so much gear) but not routine/process/work ethic.

In addition to an insane amount of prep, I really like that this performance is the culmination of ALL her years of experience. That she's used some jokes in the past and knows the details that could make or break the joke. I also really like that she went off script at the end. A great insight into reading the room in that moment. While preparation is absolutely key, the ability to understand what's missing in that moment and pull from your own personal archives (in real time, with all the pressure, etc.) is really impressive.

I read The New York Times article on her prep...over 90 tests at live shows, continually refining, rewriting, reworking. Inspiring level of preparation and commitment, though I found myself wondering about the cost of the constant doubt and self-talk she wrestles with. The results were outstanding...hope she lands on a balance that works for her. (and hosts again!)

This is such a great reminder that effortless results come from dedicated effort. As James Clear says, "You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems." Nikki’s incredible performance highlights the power of preparation and refinement. It’s a powerful reminder not to measure your starting point against someone else’s well-practiced finish.

The most engaging speakers are those who put in an incredible amount of work and preparation, yet appear as if they haven't prepared at all.
