"Humility and the embrace of uncertainty is the best approach to observational science. This study strongly supports that contention." The quotation beginning this post is from Dr. John Mandrola. https://lnkd.in/gd_8aPPw? It describes an impressively thorough, creative, and important paper showing that the associations of red meat with all-cause mortality. See: https://lnkd.in/g6fCPdjB I applaud the authors for this illustration of how to assess stability of results in nutrition epidemiology. In this case, the answer seems not so stable. "Of 48 statistically significant results, 40 had indicated red meat to reduce all-cause mortality and eight indicated red meat to increase all-cause mortality." Give me randomization and BBQ.
