Many people's first reaction to RollDeep is, "oh, another experience marketplace." I understand this reaction, as experience marketplaces are the standard across the #proptech experience industry. We are taking a different approach. RollDeep is a network. Direct partnerships between local businesses/service providers and hosts are the best way to help travelers realize deep, authentic travel experiences while keeping more travel dollars in local economies. Before starting RollDeep, we were short term rental hosts who spent a lot of time referring our guests to small businesses in our area. When we started looking for ways to formalize these relationships, we found that the major travel experience software platforms were designed to cut us, hosts, out of the deal. We initially thought of RollDeep as a bespoke tool for us to use with our vendors. When we told folks what we were up to, however, every last person said "I WANT THAT!" Most then dove into personal stories of how it would have helped their own businesses and/or travel experiences. We realized we were confronting a problem shared across the industry. So we rethought our idea at the scale of the industry. Instead of just us connecting our properties with the local economy, we built a network that allows all hosts to connect with the local services that would enhance their guests' trips, increase their bottom line, and keep more dollars in their local economies.
